Finally got a chance to sit down with it this evening for an extended MP run, and here I at 1am and lvl 30 something. It's a damn fine game. Up there with MC2. Leveling and grabbing those attachments is incredibly addictive, and probably my favorite improvement is the pistols. They're a fun and very viable approach now, something they never were in previous MCs. It's slow leveling them up, though. I'm very impressed with it and having loads of fun. Some guns are better than others, and I personally dislike Recon qnd Heavy classes. The only truly useless guns I've found are the starter Recon (just dropped that class from there, wrecking my KD) and, amusingly, the Charbetek. The KR got a nice buff, and the Ufia + starter gun are both competitive. I wish the attachments were more along the lines of fine tuning and tweaking, with payoff vs debuffs like MC4 instead of small upgrades, but ah well. There is a very nice, steady sense of progression here. Gameplay is strategic. No run and gun from MC3, yet faster than 4. The headshot instakill was a great addition. The grenade launchers are extremely annoying. Grenades are nowhere near as OP as others would have you believe. If you see an 'nade indicator, move! Likewise, Heavy is slow and terrible with ranged combat. Easy to defeat. No one plays recon, and sniper is hard to do well in, leaving Assault and, umm..... Fortunately there's a lot of variety in attachments and gun combinations, so it's hard to let that get old. Besides, I'm sure there will be balance tweaks soon. Campaign is much improved over MC4 and 3, there's a large amount of variety in gameplay elements and the AI has improved marginally. It no longer feels so much like a shooting gallery, but that's more due to the fun gunplay and variety than especially good level design or AI. Speaking of which, there are lots of different enemy types now. Heavy juggernauts, RPG guys, snipers, drones, shot gunners that charge, guys ducking and dodging from cover, etc. It's notably more difficult than last time. On rails turret levels are supremely entertaining, mostly due to their raw spectacle and destruction. Set pieces are the name of the game there. Destructible environments are really enjoyable, though eventually turn into more of a gimmick. The addition of challenges is a fun touch. There are actually bullet decals and bloodstains on enemies as you shoot them; it's morbidly entertaining to empty an entire clip as they flail their arms about. The levels are 5 minute chunks, and while I prefer longer ones it actually makes good sense and works well here. They get straight to the action without excessive, uninteresting story exposition. Though, speaking of story, I'm about 2/3s through and it isn't as terrible as it could've been. The single most interesting aspect there is the absurdly curvaceous Roux. I'm not going to comment on the always-online bit, I'm actually traveling at the moment so it's especially inconvenient for me, but considering the debacle that went on over the weekend I see both sides.
Most users were talking about the grenade which detonates as soon as it hits the ground and it's the one which is used most in-game.
I've mostly come across nail grenades. The impacts don't instakill unless you've already lost health, I beleive.
I actually like the charbtek. Perhaps you were using it out of its context? It's hard gun to use though, I'll admit that. It works best only at shortmid ranges. Kinda like a shotgun with better range.
Solo Events arent working globally. You will be set in a "group" of 100 random players and these will be the only ones you will have to compete with.
Does this game sync progress between devices without having to login using Facebook? Also does single player level up your gear for multiplayer?
Is anyone else having an issue with this game wanting me to keep downloading the multiplayer and other campaign levels. It seems like I've done it 3 times. Is it intentional that I have to redownload it each time I restart my phone? Having great fun in multiplayer BTW, seems to award more XP than in SP.

I don't like writing a post like this as I've been with this franchise since the first game... But I've got some pretty big problems with this game. First off, minimising the missions to suit a more mobile friendly approach doesn't do it for me as it feels a lot like a freemium build, especially with the AI as atrocious as it is. I think the big thing though (for me anyways) is that the game feels a bit unfinished, as though it's a big beta. It's all very floaty with the grenades and the sluggish movement. The guns don't pack a satisfying punch either. These wouldn't be as much of a problem if the maps weren't as huge and open as they are. I think everything in this game needs to be (literally) condensed just to make it feel a bit tighter and polished P.s. Does anyone know if the multiplayers been frame locked at 30 or is my iphone 5 just not up to par anymore
Sp does level up your gear for multiplayer. It's a great way to prep if you feel you are not ready. However, it is a bit slow for more experience gamers.
Yes (trough GameCenter) and yes (SP gives far less XP though) I already answered your questions one page back so why are you double posting it??
If you run any "Battery Repair" or "Memory booster" apps, it may read these downloaded files as junk files and delete them, so you would have to redownload them. That's the only thing I can think of.
I honestly have no idea why so many people hate this game, the game itself really reminds me of modern combat 3,mainly because it is fast paced. My friend who played from modern combat 3,4 to modern combat 5 absolutely loves this game and he thinks mc5 is way better than mc4 just like I do.My only complain is that gameloft managed to #### up the bolt action sniper riffles but I really hope that they will make it 1 hit 1 kill in the future updates.
Looks like I'm waiting for an update then. Might try a fresh install, but this seems like an odd omission.
