The TA squad sign up link is on the first page... And the first page of tht thread sets out the philosophy! We are not elitist and we are in it for the fun times
Make that three! Usually I rage quit after about 15 min because I just can not seem to control what is on the screen. I think with your tips I might actually get into FPS!
Game is good but I've noticed that animations don't always work, like sprinting and aiming are glitchy.
i have the same problem. i live in germany. my game center account connects without any problems but the game itself says it cant. i have spent money on this game and now i cant play it? great
The game so far for me is just ok. I'm not really sure why people are blown away by this. Graphically it looks fine but performance on my iPhone 5 has been literally hit or miss with random frame issues and because of that the contextual buttons don't always pop. While I appreciate more particle effects and better lighting, having recently played MC4, MC5 doesn't look much better if at all to me. Story/Campaign is what it is but the progression and way it is broken up is not only confusing but also unnecessary. The story goes from dude in water craft thing shooting other dudes to then being in a super short mission with sandals and random dudes shooting you. The people from the first mission and even the narrator spec ops lady disappear and you are left with some doctor for several mini missions. It just flows really poorly ad could have been done a lot better. Multiplayer is tolerable but seriously only having 4 maps and taking away several modes screams of future DLC that is going to cost more money in a game that is already being touted as a "premium" experience. While I'm not against DLC as much as I am IAPs (there is a difference) the fact that content was either taken out of the main game or just not finished in time so they decided to not include it is sadly obvious. If you are only going to have 4 maps then they better all be good. I've played 3 of them and only 1 seemed to play well. The other 2 had no flow. Not to mention the default weapons are all complete crap. Even after getting some attachments they are terrible. I do like the leveling system which has been on consoles before and actually works well for mobile. The BF4 style of using a weapon class to unlock other weapons in that class is fine and I actually like it even if the default AR and SMG are garbage. Took me a minute but I also realized it worked that way for the grenades and pistols too. It's an interesting twist to the MC series that I like. Luckily I haven't seen any obvious hackers yet as others have reported but the connections have been really wonky. That's to be expected for launch day I suppose. With the reveal from one of the Gameloft folks posts that you can't get all the classes to max when you reach max level, I get the feeling that IAPs were actually stripped from the game after initial development. The way the unlocks are structured and the way the SP points are dished out, it just looks really obvious that IAPs should be there. I'm glad they aren't but it is fairly obvious that they were there or are going to be added like the Plants vs Zombies shooter on consoles/PC. I really hope I'm wrong. All in all, the game is functional and it plays ok if not a little janky. The always on, which is something I don't usually care about, has actually caused me some issues already playing through the campaign with random disconnects and such. Could be launch day jitters on the Gameloft servers but then that shows the ultimate flaw with this set up for the campaign. The crazy part about this game is that Call of Duty Strike Team plays and controls better in comparison to the first person view. The streamline controls in that game shows how antiquated and clunky the Modern Combat controls are although the Strike Team controls in multiplayer probably would make it too easy. So far the game is good if not a little more mediocre than I expected. It isn't the perfect game others are making it out to be band it also isn't anything revolutionary or amazing. I'm sure the Gameloft defense force will be out in droves to "prove me wrong" but honestly it is just my opinion and I am happy to report that the game isn't broken and is functional. I'll obviously keep playing as I paid $7 bucks and I'm sure some of the connection issues will probably work themselves out but overall the game really didn't live up to all the hype for me. It is a little too similar to the past games with very little innovation since MC3 from what I could see. The clunky controls and overall the same janky stuff from MC3 (my favorite from the series by the way) still rears its ugly head here and that is just strange to me.
So which weapons are good in this game? I feel completely outmatched when I play MP, both in skill (which is fine) and firepower (which is annoying). I'm getting sick of catching an opponent off guard and drilling him with 6 bullets only to have him finally turn and one-shot kill me. I know my aim needs work too on the touch screen. I also find myself always losing when I accidently come face to face with an enemy. I can never seem to get my sights focused right. I'm hoping the better attachments will help. I'm currently level 7 (I think) and have 2 weapons available (not including the shotgun).
You are going to have to grind. The UFIA is the first decent AR and it is the third unlock. The second SMG is a little better (the one that looks like the Vector) but still a POS. The shotgun isn't bad actually. Just sprint at a dude and fire from the hip. Super cheap but works a little too well. With the health regen perk it may be a little too good.
Then why don't you jailbreak? Seriously I don't know how anyone who really loves their iDevice could not be jailbroken.
Thanks. I think I'm about 50% of the way to the UFIA so I'll make a push for that gun today. How often should I be looking down the scope? As soon as I see almost any enemy? Or just ones that are far away? Sorry for the beginner questions.
How long is it? That was initially my plan, but my willpower failed. What level you when you finished the campaign?
If this were a console shooter I'd say you should ADS most of the time so it isn't a "beginner" question. It just isn't obvious. This game, the hip fire seems to be really good. it was good in the previous games but it is really good here which is a little crazy. There don't seem to be as many long lines of sight in this one on the maps I have played so your best but is to just hip fire unless they are at mid range or you get the drop on some one and can get that quick headshot. As someone else mentioned, like the previous MC games, the higher the gun, the better it is. This isn't like CoD of BF where the starter gun are universally good with zero specialization and the higher tier guns are made with a particular play style in mind. Here it is the higher the unlock from what I have seen in the previous MC games and from what I have experienced so far with this game. I've played a few campaign missions and a bunch of multiplayer and yes, the multi is rough right out the gate due to having crap weapons and this is from someone that was pretty good at the previous games. Not great but decent enough. I won the majority of my matches and my K/D hovered around 2. Sadly, that is part of the reason I suspect that IAPs were removed from the game right before the full on reveal stuff came out a few months back. The entire multiplayer aspect of the game just screams of unbalanced and skewed toward the player with the most unlocks/higher level and not the better players. These are my initial impressions anyway. They may change in the coming weeks as the game is still early in its lifecycle but initial impressions in terms of balance aren't stellar and feel a little too similar to the past MC games in that regard.
In MC3 guns like the OPS and the Shred were very good, and those are unlocked at low ranks. MC4 didn't have weapons unlocks for ranking up, and even the starter weapon with a few attachments could be a bit viable.
They were ok stepping stones but you got them in the 20s if I remember correctly. They weren't great but like this games UFIA ok until you can get something better. Right out the gate the default rifle was poo. MC4 had super expensive unlocks and the further down the line they were on the "buy" area the better they were. That starter gun was garbage without the "right" attachments and even then can be beat out by the Compakt and the Charbtek overall just from shear amounts of damage combined the RoF and ammo capacisty. It was just ok but due to the 20 round mag and slow RoF it didn't hold a candle to the top unlocks.
guess I am finishing SP before hitting the MP again... thats not a bad thing though as the SP is good fun
Could anyone explain how the Rating system works? I'm winning every game and finishing as the top scorer, but my score just randomly goes up and down. How do I get it up?
Dumb question, but for those on iPhones are you able to read and work the ui easily? I felt like MC4 was so tiny, but my eyes kind of suck too lol.
