A few things just don't add up. Why the realtime shadows on every object and person and vehicle? Gameloft has just gone from basic blob and baked on shadows to full out advanced lighting. I find that a little difficult to believe, especially with a year development time. The helicopters just look weird. Why the futuristic look in "zero hour"? Same hand, same hand. Why? Surely if its just for beta they could've reskinned it for the photos to at least have do something different. The poly count on everything looks like a console game. Especially that gun. The particle count for those explosions is sky high better than what I would expect
Some things to note: 1. The real time shadows are still fairly basic (no soft edges for example), I think this is possible (perhaps not on all iDevices but I'm sure the iPhone 4S could handle that) 2. CoD is getting slightly futuristic, so of course MC has to follow! 3. Compared to a console game the environments still have a much lower poly count (Look at the ground, it's relatively flat, if this was a console game there'd be debris everywhere!), it makes sense to have more detail on the gun since that's the one thing you'll have on your screen for 95% of the time. Judging by the pictures I could still see this running on 4th gen devices, wich makes me happy! (obviously without the Depth of Field and real time shadows, etc.)
Even if you doubt it on a technical level, this images are real, now they could be photoshopped but they're real that's for 200% sure.
Yeah I really think this is legit. Now all I hope is that they sacrifise a lot of effects on 4th gen so it can run lagless
Oh and the first picture is probably the only in-game picture so others could be cinematics which means they're obviously gonna be better in graphics
Gameloft only does in engine cinematics tho, not CG like mc1,2 nova 1,2. So what you see here is what you'll probably get, if you have the latest and greatest hardware and if these are real.
Cinematics can still look better than the rest of the game, because the developers are controlling what you see. Those particles from the explosion could be fake for example, and just some 2d animation that looks right from that angle.
True Though Ravensword 2 run smoothly on a 4s with realtime shadows and its an open world. Likewise forgotten memories runs on an iPad 2 at 60 fps and looks even better than this in terms of lighting, I'm talking Dead Space 1 level here. So I'd buy this running on an a5, probably. Just hope GL provides an option to disable retina for iPad 3 owners.
I hope they don't add the fog like they did on nova 3 on some multiplayer maps on my iPad 1, it looked terrible, mc3s graphics looked way better because you could actually see more than 20 feet ahead. That is if it's even going to be on iPad 1
This game would be for iPhone 5, But then again, I don't want to start another 2 years contract just for new phone. It's just a game, I will get next iPhone
No the only device it'll run ok should be iPhone 5. iPhone 4S and iPad 2 have a5 chips, should be the target base but of course will drop frames a ton. iPad 3 will be even worse if GL uses retina like they did with wild blood. I'm hoping for a toggle like there is in nova 3. Otherwise I predict doom and gloom. Ah yes and for the record the new new iPad either won't be a huge spec leap or will have some MASSIVE advances in heat displacement. The gpu in the new iPad produces so much heat I can't imagine stuffing a more powerful one into the same case without big issues.
Well new gpus are smaller and with apple now using custom designs we could see some amazing new tech. My ipad 4 dream configuration: a good quad core cpu with a powervr g6400/g6200 (20x more powerful )
