Mc3 won't be worth it once mc4 comes out. Mc2 is the only one with lasting value after a sequel releases.
Yeah I do! I work at Gameloft Montreal, on the Zero Hour team. Been lurking around these forums for a while, finally decided to pipe in. ^____^
Of course there is the fact that mc4 will barely run on iPod touch 4g, if at all. If that be the case I won't be playing the damn game until Christmas Not an easy task.
Stick some monkey's somewhere in the game. Gotta have monkey's. Seriously though, anything you can tell us about the game?
Basically what JBRUU said and I've had same phone for three years so if all goes well I'll be upgrading to an iPhone 4S/5 in October
I enjoyed it at the time but honestly don't really remember lol. @LOLavi I'm getting an iPad 2 or iPod touch 5g for Christmas
Monkeys eh?? Hummm....No. But you came pretty close! Here's the big twist. We've changed the name to Modern Wombat 4: Zero Flour. It's a game about a Wombat who bakes gluten free cookies. You'll love it!
Fantastic. Great pacing, good AI for the time and better than MC3's. There was a fantastic lack of cheesy swearing too. Story was meh, but the gameplay and variety were oh so good. No lip sync and mitten hands in cutscenes always grated on me lol, but the poly count on the guns was good and the game over was just play fun. MC3's campaign was, well, to frenetic and just had no idea whether it was a parody of CoD or an actually attempt at a military FPS and story. It just hit on all the stereotypes (just like 9mm) and the level design was meh. Of course we all know how awesome the multiplayer is, so I really can't fault it too much. MC3 was a multiplayer based game, just like BF3 and CoD. MC2 was a great balance of both, you could tell a lot of effort was put into both. I played through MC2's campaign at least 8 times, beat it on extreme, which actually was really darn hard at certain points. So yeah I just love MC2 to death. MC3 is more feature rich and has more lasting value in terms of variety of multiplayer and weapons etc, but just doesn't have that charm that MC2 did. I'm really hoping MC4 will capture that, and deliver on the campaign aspect. I don't know about the rest of you but I really appreciate a well done story mode, and judging by the trailer MC4 looks to have just a fantastic, very serious tone. Love the music too.
I'd just like to tell you that we really love it when devs get involved in TA forums. Thanks so much for dropping by. I understand if you can't answer most of our questions, but nonetheless, welcome! Btw I was wondering...will there be an option to disable retina on the iPad 3 to have full effects (like those lovely realtime shadows! ) and better framerate? I and many other 3rd gen iPad owners greatly appreciate the inclusion of a toggle like NOVA 3 had. I know, for instance, MC3 has this really nice looking motion blur effect when turning and depth of field when sprinting and a blur effect with explosives that the iPad 3 doesn't have due to retina assets. It also runs at a smoother framerate. Will iPad 3 owners have a toggle for MC4 like NOVA 3 did?
Hey thanks! But really it's my pleasure! You guys have an awesome community of passionate mobile gamers here, so I'm happy I stopped being a lurker. Sadly, I cant answer that either! v______v I CAN tell you that the team is working to optimize the experience for the whole gamut of devices available. I played on a 'lower-end' device just this week, and I wasn't struggling in the least. Other than the whole 'staying alive' part.
Well, that's great hear that a "lower end" device will be ale to play. I'm thinking all A5 and up devices are high end, so I'm guessing guys that at least the i4 and maybe the itouch 4 (darned ram) might get it. And if it really is running smoothly as you say, well, that's also really good news. And if it isn't in this build maybe consider a toggle in an update
Hope so.. Would hate to have to wait until Christmas to even kinda play it. Lol Yeah it would be awesome to be able to lower the graphics and/or effects on lower devices for maximum smoothness.
I know you are not able to give us a release date, but can you give us a wide time frame. For example Oct-Nov., or Nov-Dec. Part of what made me anticipate MC3 was that the community was able to pinpoint a release date, and when Gameloft offcially released their date I put it on my calendar and waited for it like a boy on Christimas. However, when you say coming soon and don't give us any further details, it can make us lose anticipation. When Infinty Blade: Dungeons was revealed with the saying coming soon, I was very eager for it to come out. However, that was 7+ months ago, and by this point I don't really care. On another note, I am EXTREMELY glad to see a developer of such a major game on the forums. If I were to say one thing that Gameloft could've done for MC3, I would say they should've been more active in the community. Many people reported bugs, hackers, and suggestions, but gamloft hardly ever responded, and when they did it was in the form of an automated email. If you want to make this game excellent, you should become involved in the community. Although this kind of sounds like bragging, many people including myself on the TA forums were hardcore gamers, some of us being some of the first to reach rank 90. We were also some of the first to report bugs and complaints, and I think that if you become involved in the community, then this game may even be one to rival big brand names such as Call of Duty and Battlefield.
