If people can play BF3 or CoD on consoles at roughly 30fps, you can play MC4 at that same frame rate, I'm just saying for the people who still own an iPod 4, if you have anything higher, you don't really have to worry about having less than 30 fps, so why bother? It's not that you care or not, I'm saying these games are completely playable in that FR, if counter strike is playable at that framerate (30 fps), cause it is, you can certainly play any other game, plus, my point has always been for those who have an iPod 4, I don't get why you guys get so worked up about that, if you have anything above an iPod 4, why should you worry about frame rate drops?
This guy said it well. FPS is most important thing when it comes to having fun and especially for fps games....
I believe it has more to do with the competitiveness overall. FPS games that hold competition to such a high regard require higher frame rates, for fast response times and the ability to ensure quick reflexes. I am not saying it isn't possible on a device that will run the game at poor frame rates, but it makes it much easier on a higher end device, and that is where so much of the competition can be broken. The fact that even an average player playing on an iPad 4 can win against a fairly good player utilizing an iPod touch or even A5 devices is a frivolity that just requires proper universal optimization. No one likes to lose, and that is why this debate has taken so much of this thread in the first place. We all want to ensure ourselves that everyone can go into the game with equal advantages, but we can only hope gameloft will sustain these mobile gaming burdens.
If you want smooth frame rates on older devices, they probably have to reduce the visibility significantly. That means better devices see more in the distance, thus killing you. Keeping same visibility would make old devices lag, once again giving advantages to better ones. Lowering settings makes worse textures, which may give advantages to bad devices(like Arma 2/DayZ). By the way, COD runs at 60FPS on console(not always, but at least that's the max fps). Oh and higher FOV for iPad is at this point needed. I don't want a giant gun, I want to see more stuff in my peripheral vision. This will probably give an even larger advantage to iPad players though.
Tthe FPS on consoles are ALWAYS 30. And to the person who calimed that counter-strike is playable with 30 fps, have you ever tried it? you get eye-cancer. In counter-strike you must have 95-100 fps to play normally.
C'mon Gameloft please release mc4 this week or next. Oh yeah, about frame rates.... Enough already. Personally as long as this game plays smooth on A5 and above devices, ill be happy with that. I will just play the game and have fun... Instead of over analyzing.
Nah please release dev diary this week. Game won't come out this week anyway. This excitement is killing me gahgh!!! It won't run well on my iPod and I'm still not sure to what I can upgrade to if at all, but I still wanna play this. Even if that means playing with lag
Can you all stop arguing about frame rates? I don't think anyone really cares about battlefield 3/Call of duty frame rates. Can we talk about mc4? And if there's no info then that doesn't give you permission to blab on about something else, it's still annoying.
This frame rate stuff is getting annoying, along with being too picky. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think that nova 3, mc3 are amazing games ( incredible for a mobile game) and mini console like. Mc4 will be the ultimate Fps on iOS. We should just enjoy Mc4 when it comes out. The things they can do on mobile these days!
So gameloft can announce a release date for littlest pet shop but not for modern combat which has been announced for more than a month?
when touchgen did a hands on for mc3 it was 10 days before the release date. Hopefully its the same this time
I was wondering if they held out to release this week (or next) since CoD is coming out as well. Maybe to ride on the momentum? Of course if anyone is playing CoD, they probably aren't going to want to play a potentially inferior FPS when they can invest the time in a console version.
10 days from now would place the release date on Thursday. I am hoping. On a side note GL, I remember when Touch Gen did a multiplayer video on MC3. It was awesome that we had multiplayer info, and I remember being so excited for MC3's release. I hope the same thing will happen for MC4. EDIT: I tweeted TouchGen, and they said that they would come out with a video/article on Wednesday.
Hoping for a thanksgiving release. Proper way for gameloft to show their gratitude to their loyal customers.
They probably realize that there fans will be pissed at them if the game comes out in December. The only reason not to release it now is due to BO2, however the majority of people that will play BO2 on release are not also coming to play MC4, no matter when it comes out after BO2 is released. I personally think they should've released it the 8th, but that's just me. We know the game is already finished or very near completion, as Gameloft has posted instagram photos of them testing the game out, and TouchGen wouldn't review the game if it was only half done. I personally would like to see it come out on Halloween, the 22nd, because a lot of people have a school break that day, and it would give people time to play the game.
