Paul, about the release date - I've said this before. We do NOT know what the release date will be, and the window we've given is what we can currently offer you. This is largely in part due to the nature of mobile development. If we knew the exact date the game will be released, we would certainly give it to you. This would work in our favor IMMENSELY. But unfortunately, we can't. Secondly, would you rather us give out a date of October 31st, and release a game that is just simply unfinished and badly done? I think you'd be a lot angrier at Gameloft than you are now. If we set a date, but had to postpone the release for reasons out of our control? That would be even worse. I promise you, when we know we will be shouting it from the internet rooftops.
Also, to reassure some of you, before any action is taken against possible hackers, the report will always be verified by our staff here at Gameloft. Only when we are certain that the player is in fact hacking the game will serious measures be taken. And this will always be verified by a human being.
Hmmm, you do have a good point. I would rather ou release a finished game, but I also think that it doesn't have to be perfect in every single way. For example I would rather release the games month early as opposed to spendiing a month to try to have the reload animation for a single pistol look exactly perfect. I assume you guys will update MC4, so if the community finds an error it will probably be updated within a couple of weeks. However I think I would rather wait an extra week or two than have a game with one or two major game breaking bugs. BTW, if you need anybody to text the game for bugs, just PM me.
Just don't release the game right after black ops 2 come out. It would have more sales if it comes out on like 2 weeks before black ops 2. I know couple buddies dying to play this game. But most of them already pre ordered the black ops and they will NOT****** give this game a chance for a long time if black ops 2 comes out first. People can't wait for black ops 2. So putting mc4 will help some people to forget about waiting for the black ops 2 come out which will make people buy the game a lot more. If you guys can't launch the game before that, releases the game few weeks after black ops 2 comes out. Like end of nov or early dec. it will make people pay attention to game a lot more. People who got sick of the game, people who hate the game, people want to play different fps shooters, people want to enjoy fps on to go, they will all buy mc4. I am just saying putting mc4 to the app store same week as BOP2 or a week after won't get much sales. So if you guys aren't ready for the launch before nov 1st, take your times and release it on December!
How about instead of all of us screeching for a release date, we sit back and enjoy the moment, savor our anticipation a little. Then read a good book or watch a quality movie. Or do some yard work or work out. Don't let a video game be the center of your life. /hypocrisy
I'd take that as its not going to be complete any time soon, as in maybe late November or early December
How about release a buggy version for like an hour on the appstore and then pull it. I think it will generate hype without people being angry about a buggy game because they will be happy they got it early and know it will be updated. I remember gameloft doing this with prince of persia:ww.
Make it like MC3 was on release. It was easily playable, but there were some minor bugs. He difference is that it seems like the MC4 team will actually update the game to fix bugs, something which happened very rarely for MC3. From a business standpoint I think they should release MC4 on the 8th, because BO2 will be getting ready to be released so many fans will be eagerly anticipating BO2. In the meantime, they will probably look for other games to occupy themselves, and when they go on the AppStore and see MC4 at the top of the charts ,they I'll probably buy it.
And I want an iPad 4 now. But I'm going to have to wait a few weeks, just like you will have to for mc4.
^ + 1 million. Jeez, if all the people that wanted it released now or even sooner than it was ready, I can easily right now picture the level of hateful critical comments that would then be left on the release thread and the one star "buggy game" reviews they would then leave on the App Store. What exactly would you like? A polished and complete game released in November or December? Or a buggy unfinished crashing game released on Thursday? Wow, just wow. The game will be released when its done. As no release date has been announced, they are not teasing us or dragging it out, they are simply getting involved with the outside community and updating that it is being made, that work is going on, that it is close to ready, just not ready yet. At least it's not like IB Dungeons. Try that thread for virtually zero interaction or updates and then come back here and be thankful.
True this^^ I would rather have a finished game and wait an extra two weeks than a buggy mess right now. There are so many awesome games on iOS and other platforms. There is no need for this to be rushed right now. IB Dungeons is a perfect example of Devs not communicating with potential customers. ES has done a great job of informing us of current and upcoming news.
I would like to play now of course, but my life doesnt evolve around gaming so i dont mind waiting a few weeks or a month...plus theres a couple of interesting games coming soon so if they do decide to release later just get one of those...
