1. What new GPU? I doubt we'll see that.

2. Who the hell plays on a tablet on the go? (not including long trips (flights))

 

1) I think by new gpu he means A6

2) Hum, I do? When i'm on the train i tend to watch movies and play on my ipad. I don't know if two hours is a long trip but it's really one of the most useful device for me right now.

 

1. The A6 is a system on chip, so it includes a GPU upgrade (quad SGX543 cores). And by new, I meant new to the iPad.

2. My nephews carry a DS or PSVita everywhere they go. I think an iPad mini could be a great substitute.

Overall, I just think the smaller iPad will be great for gaming. Battery life, graphics, Appstore, portability, price, etc...

 

Yeah, it won't get the a6. That'd make the mini more powerful than the ipad3 and that isn't going to happen.
Think a5.
An a6 in it would kill sales of the ipad3.

Anyway there's a thread for that.

 

The A6 is based on a the 32nm manufacturing process. Smaller chip = better performance and less power consumption, not to mention cheaper manufacturing prices in the long run. It's Moore's law which dictates this.

Who's to say the iPad 3 won't get an A6 upgrade too?

I understand all the tech side.
I'm factoring in the economics side as well though.
Maybe I'm wrong, but a6 in iPad mini would surprise me greatly.

 

And you may be right, but I just don't see Apple doing something like that due to the screen size and pixels that need to be pushed. Guess we're about to find out.

I hope iPad Mini is real cause I'd rather buy that than an iPad.

 

I just hope the iPad mini (16gb) version is less than 400 bucks. other wise I just might be a Asus 7 tablet instead.

AD for iPad mini was pretty creative I thought.
But yeah, good thing I sold iPad 3 last week for $450
But damm. I am bummed out about iPad 4 tho. It is huge f**k you to iPad 3 users.

 

I was hoping for at least an A5X chip on the mini . I still think it's the best portable gaming device. MC4 on the iPad Mini will rule!
