Character bio's is a cool idea.. Means the characters will be a lot deeper. Aside from Downs there was no character depth whatsoever See above 20 posts
Dude don't be teasing me now. It's a forum. I worked really hard on the video so i just want to see what Esther wants me to do.
Okay, for those asking if they should delete or not delete, the simple answer is if the info is locked on the main website, it is unreleased info so delete it. The unreleased info is in all likelihood either under embargo, not finalised for the release build i.e. still being developed or even possibly just place holders. Some of the info may not even be accurate and even if it is, it could possibly change. If some have figured out a way to see it, look it up yourselves, fine but don't publicly post it. It can lead to problems for some that are best avoided. So please be cautious at least. Also, it is all copyrighted by Gameloft at the moment, so releasing copyrighted info is somewhat frowned upon. Don't confuse this with a criticism or threat or attempt to conceal anything now guys. It's just best to not release internal company info prior to the company's release of it or without said company's permission. Just because its in place on a website and getting ready for release, if its locked out, it's locked out for a reason, that's all. Don't post it publicly.
It is indeed under embargo. I highly doubt even the press has access to this stuff, so what gives you guys the right to just post this? What kind of flawed defense is "here, I leaked some stuff about your game, is it alright if I do that?", anyways? That's pathetic. It's like saying "I stole a product from your store; are you going to stop me?" Shame on you.
None of us work for gameloft, if we find info about an upcoming game that was posted on the web then why wouldnt we share it. I would agree that sharing pictures is a bad idea due to copyright but sharing links where people can view the information themselves shouldnt be much of a problem. If gameloft doesnt want this content seen they shouldnt make it so easily available.
Guess what? That's not your decision. It's not publicly available, you used an exploit to find that information. Legally, you're not allowed to share it. It's unfair to the developers, it's unfair to people like me (who want to play the game knowing what the developers told me, not the exploiting fans). Doesn't matter if you're old. You're communicating with the fans, and that's important for the community. It feels like Gameloft cares about it's fans, unlike companies like Capcom. Also, wasn't his last name "Paige" in MC3? I haven't played it in a while, but that's how I remember it. On another note, I really want to play NOVA 3 again, but the lack of iPhone 5 optimization has really crippled that game for me. Aiming with two letterboxed bars on either side is really hard to do. Any plans on updating it?
Never mind, I had put in a reply and then realised it was going to go round in circles. @themessenger, My previous post says anything that I have to say. Lets leave it at that.
It is publicly available, It is hosted on the internet under a specific URL, but thats beside the point. Show me where it is illegal to post a link to a website. If you were to host their content yourself then thats another situation, im talking about sharing a link to a webpage that is hosted by gameloft themselves, where they can remove the info at any time.
Releasing this type of info that we gained through a simple URL exploit is not illegal. If it is I would absolutely LOVE to see Gameloft prosecute their fans for something like this. Unbelievably bad publicity to add to that case a year ago about working conditions. Nope, nothing will happen besides an email requesting you take it down. That said, it still is not a good idea. Privately if you want to look at it I wold say feel free. But don't go broadcasting this stuff across the web. It's not maintaining a good relationship with GL or something that will encourage them to interact with the community more for their next game. And besides people, this is just a video game. It won't be the end of the world if you have to wait a month until release to learn more about it.
Hey bnates! I don't blame anyone for checking them out. You're fans, and you found a workaround. That's normal! I would have done the same. I just ask that you don't post them publicly is all! And also keep in mind the text isn't the only thing that's a placeholder.
Yes, we're not going to prosecute anyone. It's not anything about legal action, or anything silly like that. I'd personally just like the information you see to be final before its released to the public. It would be doing the MC fans a disservice in seeing anything before the content is complete. The issue with the website will be fixed ASAP, however, and we can put this whole episode behind us.
I'm more interested in that next dev diary that stats about weapons and game modes. Heck, I can just guess most of them (except killstreaks and perks) without looking at the site. So I take you can't tell us anything about that except "soon"? Like perhaps this weekend?
Seriously, Info's great but we can all just wait for the game to get the fire rate of a pistol for all i care. Sort of. But we need dem dev diary's.
Alright thanks Esther! I went on ahead and deleted it. When it is revealed officially i will post it back up
If anyone wants to check out a breakdown video and some speculation about todays info release, feel free to have a look and leave some feedback http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPexaTyYduk
