Oh. Was that single player or multiplayer? If it was multiplayer that might've been just the servers or something on Gameloft's side of things.

Both here. Only 1 vs 1 matches were smooth in multiplayer. Everything else, even the single player campaign, wasn't smooth at all.

Damn you! My entire argument just fell apart for the a5 chip running mc4 smoothly. I'm starting to become worried about my own device. Gameloft had better not pull a nova on us and give me full retina with shoddy framerate. These are the times when I wish I played on a PC primarily. I miss being able to manually adjust performance vs eye candy.

Mhmm. That's what I was worried this whole time! Because if nova 3 runs like this on my 4S, I bet mc4 won't be any better :\

They will have had more time with the upgraded engine and the 4s hardware since NOVA 3 was launched or developed so that extra time should lead to a more optimised experience.
Now it might not but it looks like a lot of time and effort has and is going into mc4 so going to be optimistic and say it'll run better on 4s than mc3.
NOVA 3 is smooth on iPad 2, better than on iPad 3 funnily enough, so it's primarily that device that I need it to run good on.

I have a feeling that Mc4 will be better optimized for all devices. By watching that recent video. Looks like Gameloft has brought their A game and has had the resources to do so.

Now, if only Gameloft can make a zombie game like Mc series.

Better than MC3 on 4S? I don't think so. MC3's performance on A4 devices sucked, but it was GREAT on A5 devices. Even if they use an updated version of the N3 engine, I think that its performance will be way worse even on A5 devices. I hope you're right though. I don't want any framerate issues with MC4 (well, neither hackers and bugs...).

By those charts, I can now see why it was so hard to play Mc3 on my ipod 4G. Especially playing mp with people using the newer iPad's. They obviously had so much more power in their devices, no lag, smooth gameplay

Here is the gflops. As you can see the i5 and iPad 3 are neck and neck, the tegra coming in sorrowfully behind at only 12.

So if this is working on iPhone 4, then surely the full chart shows that it will run on iPad 1 aswell? Considering it is quite a bit higher scoring?

It was brutal laggy in multiplayer on 4s when compared to iPad 2.
I only mention the iPad 2 simply because it emphasised how laggy on 4s and frame rate drops that 4s had.
If I never had iPad 2, I probably wouldn't of noticed.
Had both at time and the difference between the two was huge.
