Good call on VIP guys, not only is it fun but it's an excellent mode for gaining XP/coins. Is there a powerful gun that doesn't have too much recoil? Sorry if this has already been covered, the 80K gun seems like it is hard to keep accurate at further distances.
First gun with silencer, tactical holo, extended mag, some stock. Works with grip too. Anyway, almost no recoil and very powerful!
Game Impressions Okay, I've played through the campaign twice, but only played a bit of multiplayer, so most of my review will be on the campaign. Overall, the game isn't as huge a leap forward as MC1 to MC2, or even MC2 to MC3, but there are still many improvements scattered everywhere. The graphics are a big step forward; at first glance they look somewhat the same, but further analysis shows significant gains in frame rate, animation, and other graphical improvements. These include better blood/gore (headshots are immensely satisfying and sometimes downright hilarious), more polygons, MUCH better explosions and fire (think MC2s impressive fire), motion blur/FOV blur, etc. These all translate to a much better visual experience, and the presentation feels unmatched by anything else on the App Store. Another improvement that deserves its own category is the 3D armory, which is incredibly effective and equally impressive. The game claims to boast around 100 different attachments, and while this is probably true, I would have preferred to see more varsity in something like scopes than what feels to be invisible muzzle brakes. This is a small gripe in what is really a polished addition. The mot notable visual improvement is the "destructible" environments. This has even made its way into multiplayer. This is no Battlefield 3, but environments tear up nicely when rained with bullets. The second campaign mission, in particular, plays this up nicely, although a minor gripe thoughout the entire campaign is the question of "why can I shoot this glass and it shatters but not this glass." The gun collection, however, leaves something to be wanted. It seems Gameloft could have easily ported over some of MC3s weapons to up the count, as this game only has about 17 guns, as compared to MC1s 7, MC2s 15, and MC3s astounding 21. This doesn't mean the gun collection is bad; far from it. It just means Gameloft hasn't released the game with a sufficient amount/variety of guns IMO. The best example of this is the lack of light machine guns or semi-auto pistols (besides the revolver, which looks better in mc3 IMO). The ACM, KT-44, MC81, the Autovmat X, the Shred 4, the vector thing, the semi auto pistol, the ZN6, the Maiden, and perhaps some of the shotgun models (but these aren't really necessary) could have easily upped the count, but unfortunately, Gameloft did not add these. Perhaps an update will come along with a few new guns. Like I mentioned, this doesn't mean the guns are bad. Gameloft finally included burst rifles and pistols, and each gun feels weighty and solid in its own right. It's just a shame there aren't more to enjoy. The campaign is immensely enjoyable, and travels to various locations throughout the globe. It probably isn't as varied in environments as MC2, or as long as MC3s, but it's filled with huge set pieces and tons of people begging to be shot in the face. The quick time events from MC3 return, but they feel a lot more natural here. They also aren't as annoyingly abundant, and I'd say they're better placed than MC2, which if you've read any of my posts, is by far the greatest mobile FPS expeirience IMO. Perhaps one of the reasons this campaign feels shorter is that the game essentially has only like 8 or 9 different missions. While there are really 12, many of the missions you'll play as a member of the US Military, then as Edward Page, the games antagonist, through what is basically the same level. It sounds like an excuse not to have as much content (which in some ways it is), but it makes enough sense in the scope of the game not to be too much of an issue besides the familiar environments. In fact the only real problem is that the second time you play through the "mission," you pretty much already know the outcome, so it feels much less exciting because you know how the mission is going to end. Sometimes you feel as if your efforts are in vein, as whatever you do, you know the villain is going to escape, since you just played as him escaping earlier. Speaking of which, Edward Page is an excellent villain. While MC4s website explained he was someone you can relate to, I tend to agree with TA that he really isn't anyone likeable in the sense that you can relate to him. That's not to say he's a flat character or an undeveloped character, in fact, I like this mentality a lot. There's no doubt throughout the campaign that he's a bad guy, and the game does a good job of not trying to confuse him to being a "good guy", a mistake it makes with another, seemingly more minor character. (make no mistake, however, this is no Black Ops 2, a game that couldn't decide whether or not the antagonist was good or bad. Menendezes' virtue wasn't a philosophical argument, the game was indecisive on how he was portrayed, but I digress). In fact, Page contrasts nicely with the "goodness" of the protagonist, a generally silent yet still badass character. It's just ashame that Gameloft felt the need to add profuse profanity amongst other things to your squadmates that dilute the juxtaposition between the good side and bad side, at least for some. I like Page because he is an absolute badass. In the second mission, his actions display he is a highly trained killer, who isnt afraid to get blood on his hands. While he suffers from a lot of "villain cliches", he has a unique personality that lets him rise above these things and become a memorable character. His comments, for example, are downright hilarious, and for once, at least, you won't mind hearing some if the same lines later in the campaign in another mission because they are so fitting with his character. Gameloft did an excellent job vilifying Page, and it's easy to see their efforts, which pay off substantially, With the exception of the ending, which feels abrupt, cheap, and all-too-familiar, this might be the best MC story yet. MC3s story was a bit jumbled, but this rankes up there in coherency and storytelling with MC1 and MC2. Gameloft did a good job choosing which elements were important to elaborate on, and which didn't need explaining, that way the story isn't too "in your face", but played up enough where you care what happens next. I have to agree with TA on the frustrating "protect" missions. They really aren't that bad, but they do tarnish a bit of the polish this game shines with. The second mission, in particular, has an annoying one of these sequences, while later on, it feels a bit more fair yet a bit too familiar. Whether you like them or not, the on rail turret sequences are back, but this time they are usually much shorter, and serve to break up the action and add a bit of variety to the on-foot portions of the game that constitutes a majority of the action. The only (minor) gripe I can think about with these is that you get a game over if you do not protect the vehicle you are in, which usually gets blown up afterwards anyway, so a game over doesn't exactly fit for having your drone taken out 5 seconds before the game does it for you. Speaking of variety, there really isn't too much here, but then again, this is a shooter so you shouldn't expect anything new. Some weapons only appear on certain levels, and guns an be upgraded on-the-fly with enough camping credits, which adds a bit to variety. The only real disappointment is the lack of stealth portions/silenced weapons, things that were cool in MC2 and MC3, and encouraged the use of specific weapons. Their absence makes sense in the story, which portrays a war-like world, but it still would have been nice for a stealthy back story mission thrown in there for good measure. Overall, the campaign feels fast, fun, and has good characters. It's locations are good, and there's a lot of fun to be had experimenting with different campaign loadouts, a mechanic which greatly increases the already high replay factor of the campaign. It may not be incredibly long compared to Gamelofts other FPS campaigns, but it is oozing with quality and character.
Well, I agree with some of what you said, and while I haven't finished campaign yet, I do have to interject that the AI sucks and the dialogue is beyond cheesy. I really do like being a able to equip attachments, though.
lol just had a game..well handicapped game..me alone vs another 4 people..i pawned all of them with the score of 35 kills with 11 deaths..shhh
Alright, I'm getting too impatient waiting on a gyro fix (for now), so I'm going to hop into MP without it. Can anyone give me some advice on where to start dumping my earnings first? Thanks muchly!
Custom matches don't even save your kills... I went 38-3(my best score) and it would've lifted my kdr to 2, but apparently it doesn't save kills! Disappointed in that score btw, two deaths were from grenade. I should've ran instead of being greedy and going for the kill. Also, I've wondered how some low ranks are good. Well no wonder. They don't rank up or go down in kdr when they rehearse there. Update: Doesn't even save on match history. Thank god I have it saved on my photos.
I find the lack of getting ANYTHING in custom matches quite annoying. Sometimes when I play, I want to enter a full game on a map I like and kick butt but at the same time, it pisses me off when I get nothing out of a good run.. It should've been half experience gain and half credit gain on unranked.
Guys is the maximum kill limit in one game only 15? I hope next update they can extend that? I'm going to start playing a lot more, I'll look for some of you guys to play.
If you're rank 50, prestige. Your kd will shoot through the roof, as you're always playing with noobs.
My fav map too! We should play. You still haven't added idontkiippl. I even set request. Also, I'm stuck on prestige 1 rank 50 cause I don't wanna lose my paragon striker and integrated radar.
Omg... I'VE BEEN BANNED ON MC4!!!!! :'( IM NOT A HACKER YET IM BANNED it says my username doesn't exist (;( What do I do?!
