It's hard to describe. You would have to feel it on Your device. i guess I was the first ipad 4's user who complained about the performance after the update. First match , few seconds and I knew it was beacuse of the retina resolution. I remember when there was retina update of MC3 for iPad 3. It looked great but I noticed some slow downs in some spots ( the Divide map, the original Alert). That's why I was afraid of this update.
I'm sorry, if this were a year ago your argument would be more understandable. They have had a year to code for retina iPads. It's not as if the iPad 4 is the first retina screen. It's pure laziness either way. Seriously think about the next update if the truly optimized it reading "now with full retina support". That's a year old line. It's kind of silly. That made sense for MC3 obviously since it came out pre-retina.
Ok. So. Did they have a year to work on MC4? They had a deadline of dec. 6, and to please the customers they need to release it fast and then with a few bugs. They have been working hard, and then you diss them off just because they missed something? Well, I understand your frustration, but, come on.
But can we just drop the subject here? Great new guns and last like 10-20 pages have only been about the iPad 4 performance.
It's kind of huge to activate retina by mistake. The game ran at almost 60fps consistently. And I will stand by the fact that its laziness because it is. I'm a huge proponent of iOS gaming and want it to really succeed with bigger name games like this. But these kinds of things don't help. The frustration is that this is an awesome, beautiful game that is now crippled on a freaking A6X processor. Like I stated earlier, retina is not brand new. These game could NOT have been in development for more than a few months before the iPad 3, leaving plenty of time to optimize, but they didn't, fine. So it runs awesome with non retina and still looks really good, fine. We would be happy either way as long as its playable. This is just a hair away from unplayable. These processors mean nothing if devs don't take initiative. Real racing 3 is a perfect example as are some of gamelofts other offerings.
It is a little strange indeed. I was kind of hoping that by now, which would be the one year anniversary of the ipad 3, ipad 4 versions would start to shine. After all, originally the ipad 4 should have been released now, instead we got an ipad 3 which is kinda underpowered, and an ipad 4 that is neglected by developers and not selling that well. I really hope that Apple gets it right and puts out an "unrushed" ipad 5, not an ipad that releases prematurely like the ipad 3, or to get rid of Samsung, or to go with a new lightning connector. I am really hoping that the ipad 5 or 6 will be very close to console quality running ipad graphics, and will be done right.
Yes, the iPad 4 lag is making it nearly unplayable, but I have another problem. Im on rank 50 and didnt prestige still. I bought airstrike recently, but it doesnt get activated even after I cross 7 kills, or for that matter 12 or 13 kills(in team battle). Does anyone know why? Thanks EDIT: It looks like Im unable to use military support at all
Because it's not smooth enough, probably because of those shadows and additional effects . I really don't need them. I wish Mc4 worked equally on all supported devices...
Got inside an overtime match, compakt got switched to socars. The attachments are still there, however. So much WTF.
The ipad 4 is very close to console quality. Real racing 3 is breathtaking. It's just about devs knowing what they are doing. An ipad 5 would make zero difference right now.
