You'd be surprised. If it weren't for the controls and piracy we'd see even more ports. Consider that Max Payne barely ran on the ps2 yet runs at 45-60 fps on my iPad.
YES!!! No... Idk. If would be awesome but if a player is totally owning and the host is a sore loser...
On the app so I can't multi quote FYI. You bring up a REALLY good point. I actually think that's the #1 reason we're seeing sub par graphics on iOS. Budgets are a mere fraction of console games.
Yes, iOS is minimalistic compared to Windows or OSX, but it still uses more than half of an iPods ram.
Dead Trigger crashes quite often because there's not enough ram. There are loads of things that crash because of not enough Ram. Even Safari crashed when I was watching a 50 min video podcast with twitter open in the background. And when games don't crash they run slow (Modern Combat 3 for example.). iPods need more ram (and of course a new CPU & GPU) so we can moove on from these old devices. Then a lot more would be possible in new games. There was quite a change when 2nd gen iPods and iPhones were dropped. That needs to happen again, but first apple has to make a new iPod Touch, because many people who don't have a lot of money play on those.
When playing MC3 there's 8-15mb. That's quite the difference. iOS 5 takes at least 100mb ram of the already minimal ram
What. Freaking. Ever. NOVA3 < KILLZONE, BF2, ETC Period, explamation mark. Shut. The HELL UP. Btw, SCREW 3DS, SCREW NINTENDO, and SCREW RABID BADASS NINJA SQUIRRELS! Those fckers are a bitch, believe it.
Regardless, this entire discussion is theoretical. The fact of the matter is, the iPod 4 is underpowered currently for the games being released. It needs an upgrade, no matter how good the specs may be theoretically or in comparison to 10+ year old game consoles.
HELL. YES. Somebody play mc3 with a year old iPod against hackers and iPad users and tell me I'm not badass xD
