They are two different games. Strike Team is a FPS/RTS hybrid with only single player campaign and survival, while MC4 is a FPS with campaign multiplayer. If you like FPS, I'd say get it. For $0,99 is a no-brainer.

Not much of a iOS FPS guy myself. Plus I have a backlog of games I need to get to. If I ever get bored of those then I'll pay full price for it.

I bought it and I hated the controls, it makes me wish I was playing Call of Duty Strike Team. I hope this new update bring new controls.

If you couldn't handle MC4's controls, Strike Team is definitely not for you.

    What new update?
There is no new update coming except maybe iOS 7 compatibility, but no new content.
I did state this on the previous page.
The "surprise" sale was misinterpreted by people as implying an update.
I asked and unless they are keeping it very hush, forget about a content update.

Except 2 or 3 things I liked CoD Strike Team's controls and I think it will be improved in the future. I can't say the same about MC4, but I hope controls kick ass on MC5.

    Look out your window.
Always ignore JBRUU's "this game is not for you" advice. It's for your own good.

Well... I can't articulate myself very well in english, but I'll try to explain.

Controls are fine to walk and look and the dash button is very important, my problems are in the shootout moments. I have to uncover, look for the enemies, put the crosshair near them, aim (so the crosshair will "seek" the enemy) and then shoot. During this time I'm taking a lot of bullets. I spend a lot of time running the crosshair across the screen and trying to aim.

I wish I could cover with that Deus Ex and Contract Killer view so I could look for the enemies without exposing myself. I miss those CoD Strike Team's auto aim buttons too, to put me in the right direction so I don't have to look for the enemies. I miss red markers (or something like that) to help me find the enemies and to know the guy is an enemy or an ally.

This make things easier, but, since I can't use a mouse, this balance things up. MC4 makes me wish I had a mouse and is more frustrating for me than in games like CoD Strike Team, Deus Ex The Fall, Contract Killer and Mass Effect Infiltrator. They make me feel I can walk around the lack of a mouse in some way.

    @Pipipitchu
What you're describing there is a cover based shooter.
That's not really what Modern Combat series is. Its a first person shooter.

And although COD ST is also a first person shooter and not cover based like the other examples, it does have very strong aim assist which does take the skill element out of the scenario.

The parts of the controls that you dislike are parts of the game where the skill element comes in to play so you won't see it changing at any time because that is a big factor of its nature. It is very different to keyboard/mouse but at the same time once one becomes familiar with it, it becomes very much second nature.

I've played all in the series and for a while there I wished for aim assist as well, but now that I'm familiar with it, particularly proper positioning if aiming reticle, there's no way I'd turn on aim assist, not in this series.
It is there for the campaign element but you won't find any online games with aim assist on, it makes it too easy and online is very competitive and hardcore with this one.

I do see your point but I think a cover based shooter might suit you more, maybe. I will say one thing, if you stick with it and learn them, it will be much more enjoyable and satisfying because you'll know you've increased your skill at it.

You are right. I'll keep plaaying, maybe I get used to it.

And one thing I think every FPS should have is fire button on both sides of the screen. Sometimes is way better to shoot moving the crosshair. Or a "tap to shoot" option.

Also I think would be better to tap the screen with two finger to reload instead of or along with touching the gun icon on upper left corner. This way I could reload using both thumbs anywhere on the screen instead of moving my right hand.

    Good luck with it.
You make very fair points very clearly.
You're point about two thumb reloading is actually a very interesting one.

  15. Both games I think for the most part have good controls, though call of duty had far more functions therefore buttons, but cod has alternative controls like doubletap for zoom aim.

Plus when Jbruu was posting many posts critical of the controls in call of duty strike team, he had NEVER even played it before.

Both games are different styles anyway, this game is more blast em, cod little slower gameplay with more strategy and with the unique overhead view.

I think both games COD strike team, and mc4 are awesome games. Of course controls can always get better in any game, but both games have shown a good deal of customization which is good.
