The rumours are all that the 5th gen iPod Touch will be a minor update dubbed iPod4,2 compared to iPod 4,1 for the current 4th gen iPod Touch. That could well mean the same Apple A4 will be used, perhaps just with a bump to 512MB of RAM, so what's old could be new once again.
they will never do that, again. Adding more RAM will help a lot, but not nearly enough for a new generation of iPods. The 512mb 4th gen is probably the new 8gb iPod, 5th will definitely get A5 like iPad 2 and iPhone 5.
I think it is unlikely that the iPod Touch 5 will be a minor upgrade, since it would make competing with android devices alot harder.
Well I too would obviously prefer the next gen iPod to have an Apple A5. However, previous history is that references to a major refresh aka iPod5,1 should have already appeared in iOS betas by now just as the next gen iPhone dubbed iPhone4,1 and next gen iPad dubbed iPad3,1 have already appeared. Instead only iPod4,2 was introduced in the iOS 5 betas. Previously, major bumps in hardware revision numbers have corresponded with SoC changes, specifically clock speed bumps. Hence the 2nd Gen iPod Touch was the iPod2,1 since it's CPU was bumped with 412MHz in the iPod1,1 to 533MHz compared to the 2nd gen iPhone 3G which was the iPhone1,2 with the CPU remaining at 412MHz like the 1st Gen iPhone1,1. So if the next gen iPod is really the iPod4,2 then if naming conventions hold the SoC remains the same, being the A4 without even clock speed bumps since that is considered major, with the best we can hope for being increased RAM to 512MB. That would be disappointing with the price dropped 3DS squeezing the iPod Touch as a gaming device from underneath and the upcoming Playstation Vita squeezing things from above with better graphics. The Apple A5 would be ideal since it's almost half the SoC in the Playstation Vita which could simplify game/code portability between the two platforms with the difference being mainly speed rather than large architectural differences. The major advantage of using the mature Apple A4 is if they can squeeze extra battery life out of it compared to the Apple A5, since they otherwise use the same 45nm process. It seems like graphically intensive games get maybe 2-3hrs of battery life on existing iPod Touchs. If Apple can get battery life on intensive games to be 5+ hrs, that would be a worthwhile selling point for the iPod Touch as a gaming device, comparable in value to simply a more powerful SoC.
well, i don't know the actual definition, but he's using insults to provoke a reaction when the other guy just made an innocent comment, so i think that qualifies as a troll.
well with a few seconds of gameplay where most of it is just cutscenes they can't exactly show alot...
You're forgetting nova 3, lego harry potter, shadow gun, march of heroes, warm gun And i can almost say i'm missing some. Yeah good times are comming! We'll i don't know weapons, though, i can see the same ak47 with the silencer I guess And a scope. You can see how weapons can change with just some accessories
Yes finally I love thOse guns and with an acog this is making me so hyped up. Tired of the ak and m16 now we get some variety. I'm sure they will have a lot more weapons, its just a small trailer.
Well, the voice acting is rarely above that of passable, the average Gameloft game is usually around 2 hours, the storytelling is mostly pretty average, and multiplayer is often times riddled with hackers and glitchers because Gameloft updates any one game no more than few times, and that includes on the server side, which needs constant monitoring in order maintain balance. The graphics engine is top-notch, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't confuse Gameloft games with having a high production value for anything outside of the mobile gaming arena. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Resident Evil Revelations and Metal Gear Solid 3D will smash the living hell outta MC3 in terms of overall production values. Admittedly, however, effort on the developmental side of the 3DS leaves to this point a lot to be desired, but there's no doubt that nothing Gameloft produces will be come anywhere close to matching the typical PS-Vita game. I do enjoy Gameloft enough to own most of their games. Don't get me wrong. I just accept them for what they are. That's all. However, MC is not my favorite Gameloft franchise and MC2 was a letdown to me. The campaign was terrible, bland, uninspired, repetitive corridor shooter, with a vague and hallow plotline and forgettable characters. I thought MC1 was much better, as was Brothers in Arms 2. Multiplayer doesn't really do much for me either, mostly because iron-sights are nerfed due to unresponsive controls. The controls are decent, but they are not fast enough, causing sights to track too slowly, which, in turn, causes most people to run around, firing at the hip, spraying and praying, as if it we were all playing the sudden reincarnation of Halo. I play Gameloft games for their single player component. Some are better then others, but none reach the threshold of being legitimately console-quality.
In anticipation for MC3, I started a Wikia. There's not much on it so far, but I'd love it if you guys could contribute with some pre-release information for now as a way to compile everything we know about the game. The MC2 Wikia did pretty well in my slightly biased opinion, so I hope this Wikia will do even better as when the game is released. Thanks!
Now don't start bringing those comments in here too. Anyway what happened to you and hating on all of Gamelofts games eh? You sounded like quite the A-hole over on the MoH thread.
