Exactly! The only game I'm going to be missing out on is Battlefield 3. I'll probably just play it at a friends house. I'm going to cover MC3 like a mutha. LOL!
Yeah I see what you mean and thanks for being an example I guess lol anyway, I have always avoided the MP aspect of FPS/TPS because of hackers. When MC2 and NOVA 2 released, I played MP for a while until they both got pillaged with hackers and went back to playing the single player campaigns.
Yeah, multiplayer usually starts to get hit pretty hard after the 3-6 month mark. However, I'm looking forward to the competition online. Personally, I think we should start a Touch Arcade lobby (or something) because I always get stuck with crappy people. Oh yeah, I did play MC2 last night and the lag wasn't bad at all, but I was never in a match with more than a couple people.
I'm getting BF to play with my bud that doesn't own an iDevice. Plus I've heard some rumors about robot dinosaurs (WTF?) .
TouchArcade lobby sounds awesome. We could set up some kind of a match with a bunch of people here (exchange tel # for VOIP)? We used to do that with COD Zombies. Anyway, BF3 aftershock might also release same week and looking forward to that as well.
Robot dinosaurs? That's insane! Maybe I'll just get both MC3 and BF3. All I know is I'll have MC3 on the 27th. If you get BF when it comes and you don't mind, it would be awesome if you posted your impressions on my visitor board!
Now you're speaking my language. I'd be down with VOIP, especially for BF Aftershock. That's my most anticipated FPS of the year! Okay so me and my friend are/were having a conversation about iOS vs. 360 and this is what I told him, "I'd rather spend $7 on a good Modern Warfare like game instead of $60 on a re-skinned MW2!" His only come back is bigger screen, dude.
Lol he got owned!! I own a ps3 and barely use it, especially this year, I have been drawn to my iphone more than my ps3. It all comes down to accesibility. It just makes me happy to see how far iOS gaming has come
Haha! Yeah I can take my iPod just about anywhere and get wifi. I've been debating if I would go iPod 5 + 3G or not. I'll see what the iPhone 5 has to offer, also. But yeah, iOS (even android) has really came a long way. I feel like it started with games like Infinity Blade pushing the barrier, so now we get to have AMAZING shooters on our mobile devices.
I would have said that "Modern Warfare 3 is without a doubt a very sucky game, but compared with an unfinished game like modern combat 3 with no physical controls and a small screen.....Modern Warfare 3 is definitely the better game and should not even compared to a $7 iOS title"That is all.
Look! I get that consoles are better in certain ways than mobile devices, especially touch screen devices, but you have to look at it from the perspective that mobile games have come a very far way. I know that MC3 hasn't been released, but look at its predecessor, and also look at a game like Shadowgun. Shadowgun runs pretty much flawlessly on an iDevice. Also, you are right you can't necessarily compare apples to oranges, but you can go over your opinion of both. In a world of so many different platforms and devices comparing a Xbox 360 to an iPhone really isn't that hard/bad anymore (well, maybe for the Microsoft and Sony), especially now that most games and controls on a touchscreen have improved. The fun factor and depth factor on mobile devices has also gone up tremendously. Plus we are on a mobile gaming website and it's only natural. If I was on another website for something else, I would probably be doing something else. All in all, mobile gaming has come quite far and I enjoy it very much, more than playing a console (and that was the soul of our conversation IMO). I feel like I have some right to express my opinion especially since I've been playing console games since the Sega Dreamcast. All i can say is I accept your opinion for what it is and I really do see where you're coming from. Also sorry if I rambled a little bit. I sometimes tend to do that.
i'm sorry i didn't take more time to make it clear, i agree with you 100% but unfortunatly hackers on the new game are inevitable( i've a personal rule when playing mp if i see someone that's hacked i quit) and personally i've no problem playing with lesser skilled players(noobs?) what level are ranked on in mc2 multiplayer?
not everyone is a hacker some of the players are just DAMNED GOOD! sometimes i forget that when i'm getting clobbered
So, uh.. You don't like Modern Warfare. You like this game even less. Again, what are you doing here? Gameloft hater, iOS hater, I can't tell the difference. As I stated earlier: I'm looking fwd to MC3 WAAAY more than MW3 at this point. It's looking uber-awesome for a MP iOS game.
The reason i am here is because i regretfully own an iOS device, and it is the only "handheld gaming device" I currently have. Yes it does, and it's graphics are without a doubt, impressive for a mobile device, though the amount of gameplay it offers is not even comparable to amount a console title would provide me.
Wait, but you can get MC2 for as low as a dollar at times and Shadowgun is already only $5 after three weeks. Are you saying you get up to 60x more from a console game in comparison to something you can take ANYWHERE and offers intense multiplayer gameplay that's definitely not substantially inferior to the game that cost 60x? Are the graphics in console shooters 12x better than the ones in Shadowgun? 60 f**king times cheaper. Think about it. Are you willing to pay a reasonable price (at the very least $30+) a pop for these games if they do in fact become console quality? There's something about the AppStore that you won't find anywhere else in the video game industry. You get to play what you want without much/any financial limits and not feel guilty about it if it turned out to be a piece of shit that gets deleted after 5 minutes.
Can you elaborate because I can name quite of few iOS games that offer plenty of gameplay. To name a few: Starbase Orion, Galaxy Pirate Adventure, Galaxy on Fire 2, King of Dragon Pass, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Chaos Rings. All games that I play more than anything on my Wii or Xbox 360. Also how is Modern Combat 3 any more shallow than Modern Warfare 3? Trust me I'd like to know since I invested way too much of my time in MW2, so I know a thing or two about COD. But I want to hear your opinion.
It's alright, I see your point now. About my rank, I am the noobest noob, rank 38. However, I played NOVA 2 more than MC2 MP. What is your rank?
