    Are their servers getting hammered?

Lots of connection problems, hangs ever second or third time it tries to load stuff and you need to restart the game

They probably have it to everyone and the email for pre-reg was just for spamming inboxes. Seems like a smart tactic.

    International vs Japanese Differences

Like I said in the very first post of this thread, the premium currency (Magicite) can be earned without needing to spend any real money. Actually, this "Magicite Distiller" thing is not in the original Japanese version; in that version, it's just a normal Magicite counter. I actually find it kind of generous to give the international version an extra way to obtain free Magicite that accumulates automatically.

The Japanese version's Mobius Gift Box costs 1,500 Magicite, which is around $12 USD.

The Japanese Mobius Gift Box contains:
    -6 Summoning Tickets
    -20 Ability Tickets
    -2 Elixirs
    -2 Phoenix Downs
    -3 Crystals
    -1 Growstar
    -50% Higher Skill Seed Bonus
    -3 Mystic Tablets
    -1 4-Star Cactuar
    -FULL AUTO

^: The international version sells a 3,000 Magicite bundle for around $20 USD (!)
^: The international version gives you 12 Ability Tickets instead, and FULL AUTO has yet to be implemented.
^: The international version costs a whopping 3,000 Magicite, which is double that of the Japanese version.

    Other differences I've noticed:
-The international version allows you to buy Ability Tickets with Magicite in the Item Shop (!)
^: I would kill to have this feature in the Japanese version!
-The current daily Login Bonus doesn't contain any Magicite, but that's definitely subject to change.

    Summon Cards (International version)
-Job Summon (Summon's ONE job card that you don't already have)
^: COST: 3,000 Magicite or 6 Summon Tickets

-Ability 3-Star Summon (Summons ONE 3-Star card with MAXED Ability Level and MAX Skill Seed unlocks)
^: COST: 1,000 Magicite or 2 Summon Tickets

-Ability 4-Star Summon (Summons ONE 4-Star card with MAXED Ability Level and MAX Skill Seed unlocks)
***This also gives you 12 Ability Tickets.
^: COST: 2,500 Magicite or 5 Summon Tickets

-Cactuar Summon (summons 6 random rarity cactuar cards)
^: 1st time summon costs 10 Friend Tickets
^: 2nd time summon costs 20 Friend Tickets
^: 3rd time summon costs 30 Friend Tickets
^: 4th time summon and so on costs 50 Friend Tickets

    Summon Cards (Japanese version)
-Boost Great Summon (Summons ONE random job card and FIVE random 3-Star or higher cards)
[This summon possibly includes the newest job/ability cards]
***Depending on the event, there may be a seventh card given.
***Depending on the event, one or more of the ability cards can gain 4 or 5 stars + ability and skills MAXED
^: Both job and ability cards could possibly be duplicates.
*** Duplicate job cards transmute into 20 Ability Tickets.
^: COST: 3,000 Magicite or 6 Summon Tickets

-Boost Great Summon KAI (Summons SIX random 3-Star or higher cards)
[This summon possibly includes the newest job/ability cards]
***Depending on the event, there may be a seventh card given.
***Depending on the event, one or more of the ability cards can gain 4 or 5 stars/ability and skills MAXED
^: Both job and ability cards could possibly be duplicates.
*** Duplicate job cards transmute into 20 Ability Tickets.
^: COST: 3,000 Magicite or 6 Summon Tickets

-Card Summon (Summons ONE job (10%) or 3-Star/4-Star ability (90%) card)
^: Both job and ability cards could possibly be duplicates.
*** Duplicate job cards transmute into 20 Ability Tickets.

-Great Card Summon (Summons ONE random job card and FIVE random 3-Star/4-Star ability cards)
***Depending on the event, there may be a seventh card given.
^: Both job and ability cards could possibly be duplicates.
*** Duplicate job cards transmute into 20 Ability Tickets.
^: COST: 3,000 Magicite or 6 Summon Tickets

-Cactuar Summon (summons 6 random rarity cactuar cards)
^: 1st time summon costs 10 Friend Tickets
^: 2nd time summon costs 20 Friend Tickets
^: 3rd time summon costs 50 Friend Tickets
^: 4th time summon and so on costs 100 Friend Tickets

In the Japanese version, Magicite can also be obtained as rare drops from enemies; either 20 (rare) or 100 (very rare). With the inclusion of the Magicite Distiller, I'm not sure if this will be the same case for the international version.

I've done some basic calculations, so here's what I've come up with for Magicite:

In this International version, you can accumulate 3,000 Magicite in around ~20 days if you play everyday, so you will be able to get the Mobius Gift Box every month without paying any real money. The Mobius Gift Box is ABSOLUTELY worth it, and you should never miss the opportunity to get it each month!

Also, of course there are a large number of features/items that have yet to be introduced into the game through the many updates to come. Many things are subject to change; for now, it's just the beginning, so hang in there and keep playing! ;)

P.S. - Don't forget to go to ETC -> CONFIG to increase/decrease the graphics quality!

How come these games can charge a higher subscription price than traditional monthly subscription MMO on desktop ? That's sad

I loved Everquest / the elderscrolls online
And I'm looking forward to Pantheon : rise of the fallen

As the other poster stated, that's your personal opinion, not a fact. This game was created primarily for a Japanese audience where a considerable amount of playing is done in cramped quarters on train rides. Vertical orientation is a benefit in that scenario.

I was able to launch after 2 uninstall reinstalls, it kept my name choice from the first attempt. Seems all good now. A little laggy, but digging it so far.

This is a big letdown. Game doesn't work and the description on recommended performance and requirements on the page are misleading. Tried other devices and no luck.

I've had no trouble running the game except for a slow load here and there. Just make sure you have good wifi when you first start. I'd get stuck on some loading screens. I'd just go out of the app and come back which would make it retry to connect and it'd work.

I actually agree with this...There's a lot of talking up how beautiful this game looks on mobile devices, but on the 6s+ the graphics are so muddy and poorly rendered that it looks like my phone fell in a tub of vaseline. Visuals like these can certainly look crisper on iDevices and have before.

Because of this, I'm not being so easily fooled by just how utterly thin the gameplay actually is here. It's another freemium mobile experience. Gameplay that is barely existent, just so they can wrap all of the traditional f2p monetization loops around it and nothing more. It's like playing the j-rpg version of those beautiful 3D side-view car games where you do nothing but press gas and shift. Enjoy the card grind and generic story fellas. I'm already dropping out.
