Well, that's a relief then. So the server just matches up players and the individual clients on the iOS devices then connect to each other to play the round and report final scoring back to the server? Sorry for all the questions but that kind of remote back-end database programming interests me.
No problem I love answering them! Yes a connection system on a stand alone hosted server. It is used to break through firewalls and connect one user to another. Which is nice as it takes a leg out of the trip and does not kill me in bandwidth. It will not work 100% on all firewalls but for 99% it should. It also works over 3G albeit with the 3G lag induced by the cellular networks. Again it will be beta on launch as there is little to NO resources on how to do this and we had 10 testers in different time zones. So it was impossible to test. No worries as I will treat this as I did necro and baby it for a long time
I like the IAP gameloft games. Sacred Odyssey is a fantastic game, but it never got very high in the charts. To my knowledge, it never broke the top ten for free apps or top grossing. Almost all of Gamelofts games hit the top 3 of top grossing. So yeah... People didn't like it for some reason.
Well, RPGs are still kind of niche even though the MMORPG juggernaut that is WoW did manage to break through to the mainstream. Of course the following equation will always remain a true constant in this industry: Game-so-popular-South-Park-dedicated-an-entire-episode-to-it = Duh!+Winning!
Haha I like the Charlie Sheen reference. But still, people are hesitant to download a huge lite version. I think that having a free IAP version and then a collectors edition is ideal.
Can any of the beta testers comment on the story and production in this game ? It's the one element that let Necro down. The cut scenes and voicework sound promising.

Quests and storyline in this game is the reason I keep playing..you really want to find out what happens next...after trying to kill that pesky boss twelve times you really appreciate it when you get the reward cutscene..the variety of levels keep it interesting too..in your quest to unravel the story you will go from the mines, meet a hot Doctor named Sierra..she will want to send you to places like......well..better not spoil it..you will see. There is so much to this story that if you all like it and it does well...I bet Ryan will make a part 2......hmmmm Definitely not just a level grinder like necro felt like at times..!
Is there a real story? Or is it you have to defeat a super evil guy, but first go through his minions as you chase after him to either save the land, or for revenge.
Definitely story based....you crashed on a planet and the first thing you see is this broken down sentry robot..why? What is the deal with the holographic image telling you what to do...how did it get there? What secrets does it hold? You won't know unless you complete the next level..the next quest...quite addicting actually....killing my free time for ever now..
Believe me I am ready.. I am tired of working on the new version of the engine!.. I am ready to start adding things users want... tweaking gameplay.. making multiplayer amazing... and hearing what people think of this beast...
After thinking and playing a bit I did want to mention all you hoarders out there...there are collection quests ..for those of you that don't like those..make sure you have auto loot on and 99 percent of the time when a collection quest comes up you will already have the materials needed to progress....easy and quick..if you don't have the last mat then go to the store and sell your old rusted helmet maybe this should've gone on mrspuds FAQ page..?

It got rejected again a while ago because Apple was not able to start it up on iOS 4.3, and it has been re-submitted for the 3rd time.
