That really says nothing. Nova 2 is polished beyond words, has graphics as good as they come for iOS FPS, and has the best multiplayer ever integrated into an iOS game. People are looking for quality gameplay, not length.

Anyways, I hope this game will be out before the weekend is over heheh.

  4. That Appspy preview video got me really hyped. It might be the best ME gameplay video so far, although that might be just because I've watched the "official" videos too many times in the last few days. :p

your basically saying people would prefer a diamond the size of a fingernail rather then one the size of a computer mouse thats unpolished right from the diamond mine..... id prefer the unpolished also nova 2 really wasn't that good.... poor control, terrible multiplayer, repetitive campaign and gaameplay i really didn't see a pro from it

yeah lol wierd example but only one to get to the point or i could do would you rather have a small toy cow or a real one the size of the empire state building.... scrathch that i think that would be hard to clean up after but would make some good fertilizer!

That's a good point. In fact I never really thought of NR as a FPS because the focus is a lot more on melee combat with the shooting being more to do with ranged skills. In fact I've hooked up with a review site and so Ryan has provided me with a build, and you are right on about this being a true FPS in terms of gameplay. Of course, this has a lot more gameplay and much more sophisticated combat than any other FPS I've played on iOS. The combat mechanics function in a much different way than those in NR. It actually becomes quite evident from playing this game that Ryan has considerable experience firing guns himself because it feels pretty much the way it should, including things like recoil.

Also, to add: I've only acquired 2 guns in my game so far, but they have very different feels and effects. That aspect of the game is so far rock solid and seems extremely realistic. Of course, later when the crazier fantasy weapons start to show up there's no telling what those will be like, but I've already gotten a skill which allows me to mount a sort of drone cannon which booms with intense power. It's crazy and really exciting.

You can strip back the interface if it feels too busy to you. Some of the other things (senseless environments and creatures) are a matter of opinion. I find that the game has a great "b-horror film" sort of vibe to it.

And while I'm not far in (put a little over 2 hours into the game) the gameplay is already great, and promises to get a lot more in-depth, strategic and intense.

I'm still very disappointed in Touch arcade for not having a preview, especially since the fact that before GDC there was virtually no news. Hopefully there will be a review to help get the word out even more.

Ah man, I remember those... They got REALLY boring at times... Luckily one of the counselors fell asleep halfway through the thing so my friends and I had something to laugh at. Gotta say, thank God I'm already confirmed...

And I couldn't agree more with you both. I didn't get around to testing the later stages of the game, but the first rounds more than blew Necromancer out of the water, and I really can't wait to see what the full game has in store for us. I'll gladly drop the full price for the collector's edition the second it comes out... Now if only it'd be sooner. I'm just hoping we don't have to wait another 6 months for them to approve this one...

Conspiracy theory: This is not out yet because Steve Jobs wants it all to himself; he's currently in Mission Europa with Bill Gates and other exclusive millionaires who have hijacked the game for an exclusive club.
