There will be 2 versions on launch.. collectors and regular ;) Both available at the same time. I will also be doing a free day to celebrate with my old game Necromancer Rising (that is in the works not 100% but pretty sure..)...

One of the nice things for the collectors edition you start with this =)..

Other items Collectors get...( along with my thanks )
    - Collectors Build
    - Ability for Alien Skins to drop and be worn (In the Multiplayer Arena Also)
    - 1000k gold starting
    - Crimson Dawn Starting Weapon
    - 500 Ballistic Rounds
    - 500 Energy Rounds
    - 100 Red Potions
    - 100 Mana Potions
    - Get all 3 Fire Works Skills
    - Get DoomsDay to start. (Level 1 and Very nice...)
    - Unlock all levels ( you can travel anywhere even if it means you will get mowed down quickly ;) )

Basically a real head start...and some pretty awesome toys... (not to mention all the alien skins to wear)

As far as progress we are into Release Candidates now.. RC1 will go out next.. the last cheat build just went out (where testers can cheat to get anywhere in the game.) sooon.....really...sooon....

I'd pay the collector's edition price, just to do it, because the base game alone is probably worth that price. However, I don't want all that junk. I don't want a head start and I don't want to "cheat."

If a game requires these sort of things, then ultimately, I wouldn't be interested in the game. In other words, if the game is so hard that you have to somehow cheat to beat it, then I'd rather just not play the game at all, instead of accepting a cheat.

I'm sure this game doesn't require any of that stuff. I'm just saying, in general. The beginning of Nacramancer Rising actually was way too hard though. At least during the initial release, before any updates.

I won't be buying the Collector's Edition because I generally don't want the stuff given to me as opposed to earning it. Also, I've never bought an IAP that makes you stronger.

In my opinion, you do not need to cheat to play this game(cheats will be disabled before game delivers)...this will be a game that will take quite a bit of time to finish, and will also require some thinking on the players part to grow his character..I will be buying the collectors edition simply to have the different skins....imagine setting some fireworks off in the arena to distract your opponent before taking his head...he will remember the guy with the cool armors..and come back to challenge again.. ;)
The whole idea of cheating is mainly in play because we all have day jobs ad simply do not have the hours to test 24 builds x 80-100 hrs each... :)

Im just glad to hear the collector's edition will be available at the same time as the regular game. I'll buy it, if only to support the dev. :)

    Hi there! =)..

The collectors edition will give you a boost for the first 4-6 levels (which are easier then the others anyway to get players accustom to taking on 10-20 bad guys at once)..After that you will be replacing the armor anyway due to level differences..

The biggest thing to the collectors edition is the fireworks (no bonus in gameplay) and the ability to wear armors and skins the others will not have but will see. It also allows you to make one purchase and not use the IAP..

So the main benefit to the collectors edition is really the 15+ different looking armor sets you get and the firework/doomsday ability. The sword is a close range item. Thus it is not overpowered in the arena. I see most people using ranged items there. Along with the fact that most arena play will be in the levels over 6 I bet.

In the first days of release I am planning a present mail in game to everyone that has purchased (and set their name) that includes the first summon.. Again you will want to go back and beat him again and combine the skill tiles to make him more powerful ....so no real cheat there either. I just feel first adopters deserve a reward from me and this last year+ following this game. Reyem Neas will be in all the registered users mail boxes a few days post launch as a fun toy.

If you have any questions or suggestions fire away =)

I'm confused about this one free purchase thing. Will the additional episodes not be in the collector's edition or something?

Me too. Honestly, if Ryan released a collector's edition with nothing extra in it out of the gate I would buy it just to kick him a few extra bones. I can think of maybe 2 other devs I would do this for among a multitude of quality indie devs on the iOS scene. Basically, the guy is at the top of my short list of devs I will always support because I have 100% confidence they will do everything possible to support their customers above and beyond what they promise. So I'm really happy that the collector's ed. will be out at the same time as the regular (although Ryan, I'm sure you have considered that having two apps might negatively impact your spot on the charts...are you sure some online/IAP upgrade isn't the better way to go? I am hopeful for you that ME breaks out in a big way...maybe allows you to go full-time...wouldn't that be nice? ;))

    HEHE so much confusion! =)

    Thanks Media!

The collectors is all episodes and the kitchen sink

The regular requires iap to get all the episodes...

I never really like iap myself and wanted a special edition for those that have been following this project for over a year....

As far as charts... I never really expected to get to the apple charts as I do not have the marketing money it takes these days. It might as you never know (That would be a great surprise!). I have made the big charts for a few days then fell off before.. So I would rather make some users happy that do not want iaps (some at any cost ;) ) then to have just one game with iaps and target the charts...

    ;)

Maybe a big mistake who knows.. ;).. iPhone/iPad development seems to be an experiment.

I wish apple would make a system where you could tie the games together in sales. ;)

Yeah, and that is the attitude I was talking about and why I will be pimping the Hell out of this game, trying to get other people to buy it...besides that it will be a great great game, of course. Hopefully the review sites show you the love. Anyway, thanks for putting everything into your work, and thanks to the testers for working so hard. Man I am pumped for this...there has only been one other game in development in the last year that I have been similarly excited about.

So there will be two versions, one free with in-app purchases (something like Lite version), and the full paid version, or am I missing something?

To the best of my understanding...

There will be a base version for $3.99 with 99c level packs (4 total) or one $2.99 upgrade that will unlock the full game, or you can get everything + some extra features (mostly aesthetic) in the $9.99 collector's ed. app.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, pretty much, not sure if the special edition price is final but the rest should be.
