Looks fantastic. Ryan has to be the most ambitious developer working independently anywhere!

Beta has now begun, and this is awesome. If you guys want to see some of the beta action I could film a little on Saturday to get you all interested.
This is an awesome shooter RPG.

Why do the axes have hand guards D: it looks dumb :<

    but otherwise, this game looks pretty sweet. I just hope the shields aren't laughably small again in this one >3>;

The last game was a lot of hype and, frankly, it didn't deliver. Yet, I'm going to buy this anyway. I'm a sucker; especially for dedication. I'm not a huge fan of indie gaming. But if I see an indie dev who seems dedicated and seems determined to go above & beyond, I'm likely to support that dev, for the sake of their effort, if for no other reason.

I bought the last game full price too. 6.99, I believe. The game dropped in price like a stone. I don't regret being an early adopter though. That game did have potential. Paying full price helped, after all, to fund future projects as well, like this one.

The work that has put into this game is absolutely phenomenal. It really shows as well, beta has so far definitely been a blast.

Everybody should keep tabs on this game.

I feel exactly like you. I had high hopes for Necromancer Rising, and it was rough at the start. It got a little better with updates and I learned to love it.

Most of the issues with NR are fixed in ME though. The menu is SOOO much better (still not perfect though) and there is more variety in the quests. Also all of the guns and stuff really mix up the fighting.

It's early Beta, but it's shaping up.
Im not really trying to build up hype, I'm just trying to show how much it's improved. :D

Haha I was an alpha tester with ya! ;)
And yeah, Alpha builds are always very rough.

And a release date? None right now. We're balancing the first 10 levels and working out the bugs while Ryan creates the online deathmatch arena and twenty more levels.

Would love to see that video, Hitch.

And I don't see how people are going to badmouth Necromancer Rising. It's not a perfect game, because it doesn't have a ton of variety in the quests, the story is very simple and the menus were hard to figure out initially. The stuff about the small shields is silly to complain about because those were only the first shields in the game. They get enormous later on. The game is so long and perhaps could have used better pacing, but it's mostly due to Ryan's wanting to deliver something massive and epic that the game can feel impenetrable at first. Sticking with it reveals a huge variety of items, enemies and combat strategies as well as customization.

As for the price drops, it has never been less than $2.99, so it's not like you got completely burned. Most games on the app store go free or drop exponentially within their first 2 months of release.

I never made it to large shields cause I kept getting two-shotted by the first zombie boss, I think I killed him once and it involved 10 minutes of clumsy kiting around the level which kinda took the wind out of my sails as far as fun went.

Alright I'll do a video just for you. :D expect it late tomorrow night or Monday morning. I'll post it in here. I have a family reunion all day tomorrow.

And I agree with you completely. Necromancer Rising was a great game if you learned to love it for what it was. ME is going to be easier to get into, but still have plenty of depth. Plus, weapons and skills in this game are varied much more and even more awesome. :)

The GFX in Europa really remind me of Lifeforce Tenka from the PSX.
Also a little bit of Liberation for the Commodore CD32. As if some one would ever know that game ;)

Not a bad thing though! I am interested...

    Hi all! =)

I have not been around in a while due to the massive amount of work I am putting into Mission Europa. It is 100x the game Necromancer was. Plus it has multiplayer arena!..I do not have a release date but you can follow the blogs to get a feel of where it is =).. I just posted a ton of new screens and will continue to as I complete the game.

Necromancer was created at my last job under a massive amount of pressure. This game is all mine and has 10x the work put into it. A massive amount of work and NO pressure to ship it now =)... I hope you all show up an provide input!..

    Have a great day!
