Glad someone brought this thread back up. I need to play this again and get back into it Sounds silly but i'm sure the name of the game has put off a few people. When i did a search for platformers the first time and found this game i think i just didnt bother checking it out due to the name. My fault i know but others might do the same. Love the graphics to this game, going to play it again later
This. Based on the name it sounds like a game for little kids, maybe an educational title. I wouldn't have even bothered investigating what the game was about if it weren't for Synthetic praising it. Chris, if you are interested in making another platformer I'd love to share ideas with you. You could basically take the template for Yoshi's Island (SNES) and have the best action / platformer on IOS. It could star an angry penguin who tosses snowballs and rescues birds.
I'm pretty sure all of us platformer fans have a great idea for a platformer... mine's more Metroidish with a bullet hell overtone (Think Metroid II meets ESPGaluda)... =oP lol...
Since I really into meganoids now (I think it's way much better than LoE) and it seems that synthetic likes this so much, I've just bought it now. Not yet playing it, but I believe it's damn good. I actually like the name Miss Claire Garden because it's very catchy, though it's too girly and it seems like an educational kid's game. If you come up with your next platformer, make sure that you get a better name. Perhaps a vertical platformer of Miss Claire's mutated garden?
what is your favorite level ? I have started something but I can't work full time on this new project. Moreover, it's now too risky to make a game for the AppStore so I have to redevelop my tools to make them universal... The game uses the screen orientation specified by Apple guidelines. The game was tested on iPod touch (1G, 2G, 4G), but I just noticed that on iPhone, the headphone jack is on the other side! No update planned for now. there's always a visual clue to the hidden treasures, look closely! something like "angry zombie ninja"
hehe... my favorite level is Simious Jumps (Level 20) - I could play that level over and over and over all day and just never get sick of it... hehehe... I really like Butterfly Garden (Level 14) - =oD great to hear that you're working on something else!!
Looks like Early Bird is selling well. Whatever your next project is, make sure it stars a cute bird.
I'm still in the early stages of the game. I noticed theres some semi visible blocks which can not yet jump on. Is this something I need to unlock later in the game or some in the level itself I need to activate?
Usually the blocks will fill in once you grab a block of that color. Like, if there's green outlines of blocks, you need to grab a green block to have those fill in with more green blocks that you can walk on. Hope that makes sense... Also, yes... there are some blocks that you can not pick up until you get the power-up later in the game, Metroidvania style. =oD
I work on a new project, but only during my free time. I can't spend a full year to work every day on a game, like I did for Miss Claire Garden. The site has been updated with pictures and the trailer for version 1.3
I am late to the party, but I finally picked up Miss Claire Garden. This game is amazing! For a long time I had it sit on my wish list, just because I loved the art, but I never actually bought it since I don't tend to like platformers. It seems I should stop assuming that I completely dislike certain genres, because it turns out that every genre has something I can enjoy. The only problem is to find it. Well, after all this time I "found" Miss Claire Garden and I am pleased. Not that I can really put my finger on the reasons why Miss Claire Garden is a platformer I do enjoy, except for the art of course. I just do and that's good enough for me.
Oh, I've also "discovered" this game some time ago and I'm thrilled. It is totally sad that such beautifully deigned game has completely no success on the AppStore ( based on store charts ) Best luck anyway! "Amazing Breaker" example shows that even looong after release game could conquer charts!
I had completely missed out on this game when it was first released, but picked it up about a month ago. I'd also like to chime in that this is probably one of the biggest hidden gems in the app store which really surprises me. It's too bad really, I need to personally remember to promote it more whenever I see a thread or topic about "Best iOS games".
So awesome to see the thread revived again! Really good to see a few more people have been noticing this awesome game!
