Ohhh and maybe you should change the Icon ! I just dont feel it, the game looks INCREDIBLE, but the icon is average at best. The icon is the first thing someone sees in a game, before actually open it and play it. im buying this when I have the money, GREAT looking game
First of all... I love the icon, but I'm sticking with version 1.1, so I really don't care if gets changed... Secondly... Sorry it's taken me so long to let you all know what stages the treasures are in, had my birthday this week, and promised my wife I'd spend A LOT less time on my iPod for the last couple days... Also the fact that I'm on my second run-through of the game gives me a little less drive to get through it quickly... Third... Mr. Chris N., YOU SIR have made a game that took over the #1 spot on my top iOS platformer list, knocking Grokion (a game I made the soundtrack for their side project game, GRID - not released yet...) into the #2 spot... Thank you for your 14+ months of very hard work on this game! It is a MASTERPIECE!
=o/ Sorry for sounding rude... I just woke up and haven't taken my meds yet... THIS GAME IS A MASTERPIECE, retina desplay or not... It is a MUST BUY for platformer fans! I bought it when it was $2 and feel like it was a steal!
TREASURE!!!! Butterfly Shoes = Stage 14 These let you walk on the blue blocks... Pretty sure Monkey Gloves is around stage 22... They let you pick up the banana 'blocks'
Sorry... The Monkey Gloves are in stage 20... Seems a little hard to get, but once you figure it out, it's a piece of cake. =o)
And sorry to keep posting, but there's ONLY 5 reviews in the AppStore... If you guys/gals haven't given it a review there yet... Please do!! I REALLY REALLY respect Chris for his work on this game... And even after saying it was completed and there were going to be NO updates, he's already updated twice, both times addressing issues people and app reviewers have brought up... He totally deserves more support than FIVE AppStore reviews...
Again, sorry for the multiple posts... But after playing this day after day pretty much since it came out... I decided to pull out the old NES and play some SMB2 - and... all I can say is... DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN! This game KICKS THE CRAP out of SMB2... which (though I thought it wouldn't be possible) has made me LOVE this game even more! Chris... "VERY well done" doesn't even come close to what I want to express! **edit** swear this'll be the last post I make in this thread until someone says something new... =o/ lol
@syntheticvoid man the passion that you have for this game makes me want to buy it! I just need a new card @_@ but oh well, this and League of evil will have to wait until i get one n_n. Dying to try this
lol... I know... I think I'm developing a serious problem! =oP hehe I'm still blown away Chris hasn't raised the price back up to $1.99 Planet One, Plushed, Gold Miner Joe, Lockdown, iChomp, Super 8-Bit Santa... THOSE are 99 cent games... Miss Claire Garden, Frogatto, Chop Chop Caveman, Hooga... THESE are the games that deserve the $2-$3 price tags... **edit** - a little suggestion... nab the lite version of League Of Evil... it might have 50 levels... but at 15 seconds a level... it's VERY little playtime... there's also no 'fastest time' records... so you have no reason to re-play it and try and beat your previous time... I beat the ENTIRE GAME in less than an hour...
It's in my top 12... And once you can spin attack when you want to spin attack and jump when you want jump.... I think is a mighty fine game... At least I didn't bring up Torvo's World....!
I just bought this!!! hope its good synthethicvoid ;D! havent tried yet, its downloading hahaha the graphics look GORGEOUS in the images, I will give impression and/or a review in appstore ;D, oh also i see this game has no Gamecenter! Please release an update with gameceter achievements =)!
WOOO!!! hope you like it! I'm on my third playthrough now... And have only played a couple of other platformers since I've gotten this one... I even started up Grokion... The plat. that was #1 on my favs list about a week ago. It takes me about 30 minutes to do a run-through and I haven't even stuck with it for half the game... I keep going back to M.C.G. It might take a couple days to get use to the gameplay... But my god it's SOOOOOO worth it... Even knowing where everything is, this game still takes me a good 15-20 hours to FULLY complete... I really still can't believe it's only 99 cents! I also brought out my old NES and Mario 2 cartrage (had to blow in it for about 5 minutes, and tap the top of the NES for it to start... Hehe) and I really think this one surpasses SMB 2 in MANY ways... yeah... I still LOVE this game... Probably more each time I play it... Each time I do, I am more and more impressed with the gameplay, graphics, level design, and challenges... I think I'm now an official Chris N fan-boy. =oP I'd start up a group here on toucharcade if I didn't think it would be filled with comments like "I HATE HOW SLOW SHE MOVES" and "THIS GAME IS CRAP COMPARED TO (insert little platformer title here)". I feel like one of my teen/pre-teen step-daughters every time I post in this thread... (I LOVE YOU CHRIS!!! ---insert high pitched scream here----)
Consider me a big fan as well. This coupled with Great Giana Sisters and Pizza Boy strike me as pretty much the only traditional platformers that are both beautiful and responsive (I suppose Soosiz looks alright too, but nothing on a game like this). Considering the levels with insta-kill floors, I wouldn't be surprised if faster movement would make some of the complainers actually complain more. As for the reviewers, this game *does* have something in common with Yoshi's Island - they're both quite beautiful in action. Gameplay-wise though it has much more in common with other platformers.
