The "full game" argument seems a little odd to me. Yes, you're getting a more complete package initially... but you'll also finish it a hell of a lot sooner. Spend a day with A4E and you can have it 100% completed whereas the entire point of Minigore having episodic updates is that the game will constantly be reneweing itself and retaining that level of interest for months to come, not to mention the fact that the gamers themselves get some level of input into it's creation.

At least, that's the idea... it'd be nice if Apple actually ran with it.

Get alive 4 ever while it is on sale. Then when you have an extra dollar get minigore.

I've got A4E and I guess I'm a retarded gamer b/c there's no way I'm finishing this tonight ;) but I'm also waiting just like everyone else who's got minigore, except I keep that one in iTunes, no need to waste good space on my phone for it at the moment.

One thing that bothers me a bit is people have this "minigore is for the people!" kind of thing going on. What's the deal with it being on the PSP soon then? I'd say that's more of the "we're getting good cash for it, w00t!" That's not to say they're less user-friendly and interactive than A4E... but you get what I mean.

    Minigore Or A4E

Buy A4E now while it sale. Then minigore when all feature is implement.

But in reality when you got A4E you will not want anything else.

    Alive 4 Ever
    Best 4 Ever

Like MidianGXT and NBM05 said, wtf???

How can YOU compare a list $3 USD prepackaged game to an episodic adventure?

Yeah, it's a 99cent game right now, pure and simple, and a dam good one at that. A4E is run of the mill, but the best dam run-of-the-mill shooter, granted.
    And that's all.

I got a ticket for 10+ games buying Minigore. A continuing saga, for 99cents.
Like gettting a movie ticket to see Kill Bill part one movie, and getting to go to part 2 for free.
    What's better?
Was Kill Bill "complete" or "incomplete" since it was a cliff hanger, like episode 5 of Star Wars? did you get "ripped off"?

Yeah. Lets just hope they hurry that up.. Although, MountainSheep is probably working on Hardgore at the same time. Maybe that's what's taking them so long.

Just get em both, 2 good games for a total of $2, this shouldn't even be a question or issue. Minigore has some serious updates coming and Alive-4-ever is already a solid game that I only see getting better.

I'm on the "A4E for a full game now, Minigore for a full game later" bandwagon. I have both, and while Minigore was awesome, it is boring as piss now. That's fine, because I am waiting for the updates, which in reality renews itself once in a while. A4E was awesome, but I already beat it, and while I plan on playing through another go, it will get boring. With the exception of the BlueTooth multiplayer, which I hope to god Minigore gets soon.

    They are both great games.

Minigore is meant to be a "prequel" game to it's follow-up Hardgore. You guys are acting as if it's a full-blown storyline and everything seriously, just calm down. It's just the crumbs until we're given until the big $5 foot long is complete (Hardgore).

Actually Im curious what is the "other game" with 1 vote (see poll results). I read through this whole thread but did not see anyone mention any other game aside from A4E and minigore. Maybe I missed a post.

Well I said "Hanto" but I voted Minigore since it's for some god-only-knows reason behind in the polls

Oy...I hate sounding like a fan boy. Let's start with the fact that run-of-the-mill signifies mediocre, or merely average. Saying A4E is the best of the mediocre shooters is contradictory, like saying "it's the worst good game i've ever played".

There are a number of twin-stick shooters in the app store, some better then others, but A4E stands above the rest in features and game play which makes it definitely not "run-of-the-mill". However, if you peel of the shiny 3d skin of minigore, you know what you got? A run-of-the-mill shooter.

You are not getting 10+ games for buying minigore. You are getting one, that over time will probably resemble A4E (more characters, enemies, levels, guns, multiplayer).

Your movie analogy also doesn't really reflect the truth, it's more like this: Alive 4 Ever is like going to see a good movie, liking it and hoping there is a sequel; Minigore is like seeing a decent movie (that was 30 minutes long) and getting a free ticket to all future re-edits of the film, where with each edit - the movie keeps looking better and runs longer. Minigore's "Kill Bill vol. 2" is Hardgore, and you're gonna have to pay for that one.

In all honesty, pound for pound, iDracula is a better shooter then minigore. Not saying anything about the future. What I find pointless about the argument is that the question at hand was about which game is better as it is right now, not it's future potential (which A4E has boat loads of). It doesn't take god to figure out why A4E is winning in the polls, ITS A BETTER GAME!

    Get both.
Both are great and both are cheap.

Play minigore till you get bored (wont take too long) put it aside and wait a few months for some of the updates to come out.... then it will be fantastic.

The polish and mechanics of minigore are great and it's a nice tactile game to play but just needs alot more depth.

Alive 4 Ever will keep you going until then.

At $0,99 Alive 4-Ever is a great value for the money. I played through it and really liked it!

TouchGene: Originally Minigore was planned as a free lite version of Hardgore but that changed and it's a separate game now. Releasing it as a free game wouldn't have allowed us to do much in terms of updates but now that it costs $0,99 we can keep working on it full-time.

We thought the first update would be out ages ago and it might look on the outside that we're sitting here doing absolutely nothing. The reality is that I've been working 12 hour days, weekends included, for several weeks now on the new content. We have also hired extra help to work on the game. It's a bit frustrating to read how people think we are somehow slow or that the updates are just promises when in reality the stuff just isn't emerging from the other end of the App Store.

This release poster for the Episode 2 has been ready for all this time, and if we end up cancelling the update it's useless 10 hours of work because the new bigger Episode 2 has much more important feature to highlight than the extra health:

i know timmo, it sucks that apples been holding you guys back. people that are unknown to what the process is and dont know about your blog are saying things that are assumptions, but if i were in their position i would be thinking the same thing. fortunately enough for me i know better and i know you guys are great devs and are loyal to your fans and community! i really hope apple picks up the pace and the update comes through real soon. i think its nearly a month after being submitted on the 6th of september, is that right?

Yeap apple is screwing everyone over recently. Defenders chronicles update is also waiting at apple. Minigore is a great game and will be better with updates. But right now you get out more from A4E.

    I have bought both :D

Timo cant you guys send in the next update now or you must wait until the last one is ready?

you can only have 1 update waiting for approval at a time, so if they do cancel update 2 then we all better pray that apple approves update 3 quick.. otherwise thats almost a whole month of waiting.. gone..

I really loved Minigore until I got Alive 4-ever. A4E just has more replay value.. you can upgrade guns, get equipment, change characters, you gain EXP after every challenge.. you know.. there's a reason to play it. I hate the "never ending/just go for high score" type games.
