This. I bought this game a few months ago at Version 3xx, expecting some features beyond an incredibly basic dual stick shooter with some pretty graphics and unlockables. I was expecting something awesome and fun, not repetitive and grindy...especially after all of the hype. After all, it had three versions. There should be something cool in it, right? I was totally disappointed. :\
There are literally only 4 or 5 different weapons and then the clover powerup. And the characters are almost all the same unless you grind hundreds of thousands of kills (like 40+ hours of gameplay or something?). They are basically different skins with tiny differences. All you do is play the same thing over and over again.
Exactly how I feel! I'm sick of these "topscore" games getting such high ratings and review and hype. Solomon's Keep, Alive 4-Ever Returns and Catacombs are infinitely better, more varied, and replayable than this game. I started with those and was like "okay, these dual stick games are fun, I'll try Minigore" and I was so sorely disappointed. LordVader, we are disappointed because after 30minutes of gameplay you've done literally EVERYTHING in the game. There's no more discovery. Tilt to Live is an example of a topscore game that got everything right! Unlockable powerups, added in new modes with updates, witty and humorous achievements, and style for days. Someone tell me how Minigore compares with Solomon's Keep/A4ER/Catacombs in terms of dual-sticking, or Tilt To Live in terms of topscoring.
Minigore has square-headed people and furry monsters *runs* On a serious note, though I do agree that Minigore could've use some extra content like Tilt to Live.
But you love Fruit Ninja which has the same system as Minigore, except the blades don't add anything to the game.
Fruit Ninja is fun, because of its unique gameplay, there isn't anything really unique about minigore, and there are other games that do it better. Find me a game that does what FN does but better and I'll love it! I would love to see one with real advancements, maybe a story mode, and/or powerups. However, for the time being that's all we get.
I hope (but sadly doubt) that ms read these last few posts. if you want people to love minigore again, for crying out loud, give your fans what they ask for, PLEASEE!!!!!
It's going to take more than just voicing opinions here for MS to pay attention. We need a large group of people hitting the "Contact Us" button on their official site or something. -_-
Minigore itself isn't in any way bad, it's the fact that the updates that were promised haven't happened yet, and most of them probably won't happen. But that's no excuse for most of TA to hate on Minigore either.
Er, yes it is in quite a few ways bad. To prevent myself from repeating what everyone else has said, it is one of the most shallow games on the iPod even with 3 or 4 updates that have added a miniscule amount of features that are normally in games at launch.
Guys ... Remember they are making this for both Minigore and Minigore HD to be released at the same time. And they have to add inferno mode to Minigore HD.
actually it kinda is....if you promise a bunch of stuff and take forever then it gets kinda ridiculous. Minigore isn't actually a very good dual stick pick n play game if you think about it. Good art and alot of charcters is about it. There's only three weapons and like four enemies and two maps. gets kinda repetitve without the promised updates
