Yes, the bug in the save file loading is fixed, details are posted in the Minigore blog. http://minigore.blogspot.com/2010/04/save-file-bug.html This fixes the first part of the problem - the game can again be played and kills accumulate appropriately. Kimmo is now working on the solution to re-unlock characters etc. and we'll let everyone know when this has been submitted, hopefully Apple can expedite the release of a critical patch.
@'Jeep: Lame excuse. There are many indie devs out there, some with 2-man team as well, who don't release games with such major bug.. CONSISTENTLY. Innovative? What about iDracula who started it all on the iPhone? What about Alive4ever, Garters & Ghouls and other dual stick shooters? Minigore is just a clone too. Fact.
+1. iDracula was the grandaddy of them all, and it's still the best. It has more weapons, maps, perks, game modes and monsters, then all of the other dual-stick survival shooters. The only reason why it doesn't receive as much praise as it deserves is because it's graphics are mediocre, and it's considered 'old' now.
you clearly did not read my post, or you didnt read it properly. i mentioned nothing of what you said waiting 2 hours was just an example. i was more reffering to wait out instead of downloading instantly to see how it goes. this case is a perfect example dont worry i downloaded it too straight away when i should of waited
Actually iDracula got rave reviews for its beautifully crafted art. However, people thesedays don't appreciate 2D art so much. They want 3D. Everything is better in 3D. Even crappy movies are better in 3D. If only iDracula devs are smarter, they would've released the game with 1 weapon, 1 map and 2 enemies. Wait another 3 months to release 2 new weapons and 2 enemies. Wait another 6 months to release another 2 maps and game modes. That way the game will still feel 'new' and 'always updated'. Instead, they gave us only 1 update, a major and bug-free update. In an ideal world everyone prefers that. But apparently in this community people prefer small, bug-ridden updates that take forever to flesh out an otherwise content-light game.
+1. And if they really wanted to make money, they could've charged for additional maps, game modes, weapons, etc. It was clear that they cared about the audience, and not about money. In fact, I still return to iDracula to remember how a proper dual-stick survival shooter should be done. If only they still updated with new game modes, perks, maps, weapons, and Co-op MP...
Oh there were some good times in that old thread, what really suprised me here though,is that no one has brought out the dogs. And by dogs I mean the praiseworthy advice dog
That's true actually. I wouldn't mind paying for iDracula co-op mode as well. They could've even charged $0.99 per new map, just like how Minigore charges $0.99 per new character. But as you said, some care about the audience, some care about the money.
I like iDracula the way it is, it's beautiful. No need for Domokun-gore characters ruining the first dual stick legend. Minigore is the perfect case of style over substance.
On the Minigore-Blog, the programmer of Minigore (Kimmo) wrote: EVEN BETTER UPDATES LAMO it's getting more and more rediculous.
Dozens of bug fixes!!!!! YEAH RIGHT. I had over 930,000 kills..... gone. All characters unlocked except sensei evan. I WANT IT ALL BACK, NO EXCUSES. if you update on your iPhone there is NO WARNING
Nice idea! Starting now the hunt for private pictures of Mountain Sheep people. I think they will love you for this idea, too!
