Here's the reason: Minigore was meant to be a PSP Mini (which can run of the PS3 through emulation). Now, if you look on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, you'll find Minigore is a dual stick shooter. I wonder how many analog sticks the PSP has? Oh, that's right, one. The best compromise would be using the XO|_|/_\ controls, and even an eight-direction d-pad (hold two buttons at once) would play horribly.
