The DLC is completely optional. There are six free characters, that's five new ones compared to the previous version which had just John. Boss, grenades and upgraded weapons are also free new content. Like it says in the description for Kid Gore, you can buy it to support the development of Minigore. We appreciate the feedback and are sorry that we can't make everyone happy all of the time, meanwhile we continue to work on Episode 4.
While I do agree, I think that it is very difficult for Mountain Sheep to get right. There are people like you that love Minigore's simplicity, and others that want craploads of content for their $0.99. I think that what Mountain Sheep has to do is add more content into the game, while still keeping it simple. I think that so far, they have achieved just that. Of course, it's all a matter of opinion. EDIT: And on what Jouni said, the reason that DLC is in the game at all is just an option to support the devs, and get just a little more content. It's optional, it won't help you get a higher score, but it's there to help keep Mountain Sheep going.
haha i hate how people think DLC is a must. Like people think that pocketgod lied to them because they realeased optional nongameaffecting DLC but continued free updates. but some people just dont get it. save your fingers for editing and coding jouni, its not worth it
I do know that DLC is optional and it won't affect competition part of gameplay... it's just it defeated the purpose of free updates somehow... well, I could be wrong of course, as everyone seems to be happy with that you won't hear from me if there will be an ep4 update in the future anyway, so it's not like I am recurring malcontent... I just take a last chance to comment ep3 and say what is my opinion on updates of minigore in general (that it went in wrong direction, and *mini*gore turned out to be "*almost* hardgore, but not quite")
I've been considering buying Minigore for a little while, but now that the appvent calendar is up I haven't been buying anything because I'm worried it'll just pop up there. Does anyone think that Minigore is going to be involved? I'm guessing no, but just wondering.
Oh and btw in the next update perhaps you could do more stuff for the characters. More voice acting would be awesome, different beast modes for Jerry and Xmas Gore than johns, you could even make kid gore cooler by giving him a black trenchcoat and cap/bandana. Once you roll out new maps (graveyard/snow) you could impliment a scrolling system for those as well (like idracula). Another cool idea would be different weapon skins for guns. Different weapons (flamethrower and lazergun anyone?) would always be appreciated too. Things to note: the ammo crate box switches between the shotgun and grenade launcher. It's kinda unsettling because at a piticular moment I need a shotgun or vica versa, but then it changes on me and Im screwed. It should alternate between them every time it drops. Movement/firing instructions should disappear after the first game. All in all though awesome update!

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but shouldn't John Gore and Kid Gore should different? Maybe it's just me but as a kid, I sounded A LOT different from today. Not trying to be an ass either. Santa's lines are awesome. His laugh is one of the best also.
Like everyone else said, you can unlock characters or support the devs. The sliced furries aren't too bad. Although I prefer the old one better. Uhhh, how is it not simple? Go in, pick a character, click play. Simple as can be. Is picking a character too much of a difficult decision for you? All that's added is rewards for your kill. Isn't that complicated. Gameplay is pretty much the same. Besides fighting wormwolves, night/day, and weapons. That might sound more than it really is but it's barely noticeable in game how complicated it is. A lot of content added while keeping it clean, simple, and small. I could probably get into a game while 10 seconds on my 3GS EDIT: Make that a little bit over 5 seconds. WOW. Takes a little bit longer if you want someone other than John Gore but I'm sure you can live with another 5 seconds or so. Oops. Double post. Sorry.
Yeah, I thought the devs said all updates will be free and we're all welcome to join the ship at whatever stage? He kept mentioning Pocket God as example. Now, while Pocket God has around 20 episodes for free, Minigore already charges for the 3rd episode?? (which is actually the 2nd episode as the previous update was bug fixes and all that). After all the hype and failure to deliver, I'd expect them to at least give this episode as a free update to make up.
It is free. There's only two DLC. And as always, DLC is OPTIONAL. There's a lot more content besides the DLC. You get a badass santa for DLC and supporting the devs which is great. To MountainSheep, in the next update, could you guys also include an option to change maps? As in if we unlock the snow forest and the new, upcoming map, we can be able to select which level to play on for any character and not just certain ones and on just one map.
Because of all the calamity with the first update minigore has become one of those games people either love or hate. Many of us a huge fans of the game and have been loyal from the beginning. There are also a lot of people who avidly hate the game and wish it nothing other than a slow and painful death. The debate has been seen here over and over again and its the same people on both sides saying the same thing. I for one enjoy the fact that the game is so incredibly hated by some because they fuel the discussion just as much as those who love it which only gives the game more publicity. I will refer to an argument i made a long long time ago in the original thread that did die a much needed death... the game is only 99C and regardless of how you feel about it you get way more for 99c here than you do on most other games in the store. Its hard to find a 3d game coming out now for 99c. I recommend it to everyone
Santa FTW. Kid John is nothing important. Just a big head, a bandana, and that's it. Santa is completely new, has his own voice-overs, his own beast mode, and is a beast in his normal mode as well. Whoops. I misread your post. Sorry bout that.
Jerry Gore FTW!! Tooting my own horn here a bit but he was my idea (with some additions by others) and now im glad to see him out for the masses
I bought both, but if you were to pick just one then definitely Santa. He is unique, while Kid Gore is a copy of John in the Snow Forest with shades on during two of the three life stages. BTW, has anybody unlocked Sensei yet?
