yeah what happened to the 99 beta testers? don't you think that many people would have spotted these major issues?
This update was submitted before the beta testers got the build. We instantly found the bugs. And we got many new builds correcting them very soon after that. Don't make such stupid comments since you don't know what goes on in the beta group.
Ok, this has already been mentioned earlier in this thread. We, the beta testers, had nothing to do with the latest update, we were invited to test the new builds after it was already submitted. We spotted it as soon as we got the beta version of the update you all recently received.
Update 1.1.1 has, SUBMITTED ON 10/10/09. Improved Furry Sense, extended battle music, flip screen/update freeze bug fixed, OpenFeint 2.2 and minor fixes. It was subimitted 2 days ago, as said on the blog.
after playing for a while... > Furry Sense not bad, should be an option (like to find it in a crate) not constantly on - harder was better and more challenging > A third health with a headband nice, but should be found in crate with "+" on it > Automatic save and restore of game state yay > 2 achievements (expert and insane mode) nice > Giant firefurry and normal firefurry nice > New death animations HOW CAN I TURN THAT OFF? looking at those "ugly-rendered scraps of meat or whatever it is" made me to delete minigore from my phone not to mention that framerate is drastically lowered because of that... > New sound effects and voice acting meh... I didn't quite see that in the game, because for most of the time I play with sounds off (while commuting or at night) > Minor gameplay fixes and major bug fixes meh... strafing while you can't shoot fire-furry that is too close was actually a part of a challenge, now it is dulled... > OpenFeint 2.1 no more openfeint... please... > Drastically improved shotgun I never use it anyway... all in all, if there will be an option to buy minigore 1.0 again I will do that... minigore 1.1 is completely dissappointing to me and I was waiting for almost 3 months... I removed it from "iLike & iRecommend" too...
I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like the changes. Tastes are personal and I won't argue you about them but I'll try and answer some of the comments below. > [furry sense] not bad, should be an option (like to find it in a crate) > not constantly on - harder was better and more challenging You can turn it off in the menu, in case it feels like it makes the game too easy for you. We didn't want to make the game *easier* as much as make it more *fair* so that you can reach more challenging difficulty levels. Having furries kill you suddenly with no warning feels unfair to most players. > > A third health with a headband > nice, but should be found in crate with "+" on it Life gains have been discussed, this just made the game a little less abrupt and death less sudden. The difficulty still ramps up quite steeply, and being able to start from Insane Mode made most experts happier. > > New death animations > HOW CAN I TURN THAT OFF? I wasn't aware of the framerate drop, but a no-gore option has been considered for a while. The visual effect divided audiences, we continue to refine things as we go along. > meh... strafing while you can't shoot fire-furry that is too close was > actually a part of a challenge, now it is dulled... Again, we wanted most people to be confident that the game reacts fairly; when it looks like you're able to shoot the enemy, you should be able to hit it. I haven't heard any complaints that the Insane Mode is too easy, yet. > no more openfeint... please... Sorry, with people already using and wanting to continue to use it, OpenFeint remains in Minigore for now. At least you can say no to it personally and stay from using it. > > Drastically improved shotgun > never use it anyway... This is why we improved the shotgun, so that it would be useful enough for even expert players to use. If you have ideas on what would have to change about the shotgun for you to want to use it, we'd be interested in hearing them.
Why is it called 1.11, it should be called 1.1.1 Improved Furry Sense-That will be very helpful. extended battle music-That's good. flip screen/update freeze bug fixed-No more deleting the app when you do that good. OpenFeint 2.2-Whats new . minor fixes-Good.
Bigger spread? BLAM!!!! (maybe a few more bullets - not just more angle) That would make me say "Ooh! Loot!!" like John does. Then I could run into a small flock of nasties and chew em up from the inside.
Shotgun is still not where it should be in my opinion. (I am at 13.8k high score wise.) Its a rarish drop that doesnt last all that long, so it should be clearly better then the minigun. Instead, it reduces your ability to react to swarming furies from multiple directions and can quite easily get you killed. Not that you should be immune while using it, but you shouldnt feel like damn, I have to stop picking those up. Currently, BEST CASE if the furies are properly lined up, you can safely use it and thin the herd a bit more quickly then the minigun, not dramatically so. And the result of thinning the herd a bit more is more furies coming from more directions, which the shotgun is not very able to deal with. My recommendation: the fire rate needs to be increased even more then you guys did.
> Life gains have been discussed, this just made the game > a little less abrupt and death less sudden I ment that you should be able to "grab" an "health crate" only once per game - once you got it (and now you are running like rambo) you can't get it again and if you use this crate as a booby trap, it can be found again "after some time" so you have a chance to grab it again ... it will be even harder this way, not easier also this way it will need another player model, as there will be need for: unharmed, unharmed+rambo, harmed, harmed+rambo... so you can see how many "lives" you actually have > we continue to refine things as we go along switch for this is a MUST... or at least make this animations more pleasant (as if gory death can be pleasant anyway ) it is very main thing I dislike most in new version > At least you can say no to it personally and stay from using it I am doing this with every game with openfeint I encounter... > If you have ideas on what would have to change about the shotgun I'll think about that... but I really don't like playing minigore now as for now I can say that shotgun is worse than minigune because of that it is not better in killing swarming furries than minigun - in fact taking shotgun ment quick death, because you were unable to kill furries fast enough to stay alive, while with minigun there were no such problem (comparing to shotgun at least) shotgun needs to be REALLY fast and REALLY powerful (one shoot, one kill, anytime and anything but biggest furries) and have REALLY big arch of bullets and more bullets within arch (so you can sweep a lot of furrires with it, but maybe not 180 degs )... or at least fast if not "REALLY" fast... but still powerful shotgun is supposed to be extra/desirable... so it should be like that, not "just a bit faster"...
I like the set amount of lives. I think it's perfect the way it is. Adding crates of extra life would be annoying. You'd have to be careful not to blow it up accidentally... no need. Just keep it static the way it currently is.
