i try not to use died too many times in episode 1 from the shotgun needed a buff i didn't feel it was sufficient enough in the new episode currently I still think that in the betas it gets a boost beyond that of the retail version.
EDIT: advice practice and use a strategy I know strategy for an Ipod game but you need it really helps

Circle the board dragging the main pack. It's all in your route and timing

this was posted about a while back and i think most people do this:

-at the beginning, find a clearing with no bushes(a good one is go straight down at the beginning).
-stay there until you feel you can't anymore. (i usually stay till around 2000pts, but whatever you're comfortable with.)
-at that point i usually have 2 clovers and there are several on the ground around me. so i go ahead and go into beast mode and clear out all the furries i can find while headed toward one of the levels sides.
-proceed to do counter-clockwise circles around the edges of the level, shooting whatever furries you're comfortable shooting (the more you shoot, the more will pop out from different directions) while you're running, most will be behind you and you can just stay shooting and running backwards, turning as needed to hit the new ones that pop out.
-i've heard several people say at this point they only shoot the fire furries so it keeps the pop-ups to a minimum. i play more aggressively and just shoot at everything all the time.
-if you can handle turning from a beast to john without getting overtaken, it's a great way to get several hundred points at a time when the clovers build up around the level. the trick is to run away and start your circle pattern before you turn back, when the beast gets down to one clover, this will give you enough of a lead to not get overtaken when you transform.

hope this helps, now go unlock insane mode. it's just so much more fun when playing that mode (the beginning is hectic!)

News to me. Not sure it matters much, since my high is 13.8 and its mostly all fire furies by then.

i'm just sayin, when the crowd is following you, everyone you kill will respawn somewhere on the map and come at you from a different direction than the crowd (mostly.) the crowd cannot catch up to you, only the fire furries can. so if you kill only fire furries, it keeps the amount of stuff coming at you from different directions to a minimum, but also is boring to me which is why i just shoot at the crowd all the time. and i agree, by 13,000 it's just a big crowd of fire furries right on your butt so none of this matters (my high is 14070). i'm just tryin to help him get to 6000.

that is how the game is coded to replace 1-1 every furry you kill if not even 2-1 with a growing percentage becoming fire furries i belive that Jimo or some one said that at 20,000 every furry is on fire.

Pretty funny that it kept getting rejected due to bugs, it gets released and is still buggy.
