its not relying on "promises." MS advertised that this game would be an episodic series. and since there hasnt been 1 update [idc what excuses they come up with] its false advertising through and through pretty much
Anyone remember the game Daikatana? Minigore's bumpy ride is reminding me a bit of that saga, albeit on a microcosmic scale.
if we are going to compare sagas we might as well bring up teh obvious one with duke nukem forever... lets just hope we don't have to wait so long.
Here are some quick facts since thats what people ask for... 1. Minigore was promised to offer episodic content although it has not been released yet they have not abandoned the effort so they have not lied or cheated anyone. The content will come. 2. The content was supposed to come frequently and obviously that has not happened. They never promised by-weekly updates they just said they would like them to come out often. life doesn't always go as planned. as said in post one, the updates are still coming. 3. The devs have personally apologized for the lack of content so far. If you do not believe me check the blog. Check earlier in this thread or check the beta thread. They have admitted their faults and have never faulted apple for anything than taking a while to respond. 4. The devs did not hype up this product they merely provided all the information they had on a product they intended to produce. It is not hype to show videos of features that are in development. they are showing us that they are working constantly to make the product better. The members of TA looked at all the awesome info and hyped the game because they thought it looked awesome. Not the devs. 5. When you paid 99c you bought minigore as is. so far everyone has got what they paid for. 6. The new update may not offer exactly what some are looking for but it is not small at all and actually makes the game much more fun to play. Trust me i have played it. 7. As Timo has said before the 3D graphics make this game harder to program and its those graphics that make this game. If you want minigore in 2D then im sure we would see more updates and less fans. 8. Some people like to hide behind the internet and throw spears at people but what we need to remember is that Timo Vihola or Santa or Jouni are not just screen names but real people who are putting a ton of time into a product they are selling for 99c. You dont have to like the game but respect them as people. Constructive criticism of the game is great but the few of you who find it necessary to criticize the devs themselves need to remember that they are human and are bound to make mistakes. 9. Those of you who come to this thread and complain about how much this game sucks because it has not had an update yet are just as much of a spammer as the "minigore fan boys" who whine about the wait. You should probably look up the difference between fact vs. opinion...and I obviously disagree. I don't see why people on this thread are so quick to call criticism "spam". It's not spam when legitimate points (whether you agree with them or not) are being made. I'm happy to be the brunt of anger by people who can't see the faults in MG, because the longer time goes on, the more convinced I am that I'm speaking for many others who feel that they bought this under false pretences. All of these arguments that you made are justifications that are clearly being made in a defensive posture. They haven't followed through. Period. How many people here work in a job where it would be OK to say, "I'll give you what I promised...eventually. I know I told you it would be done in a reasonable timeframe, but you'll get it when you get it. It's someone else's fault that MY work isn't ready when I said it would be. Oh, and by the way...that next job you wanted me to do? Yeah, it looks like it'll be a few months later than I thought it would be. Sorry."
It's cause they entranced themselves by the hype, with months of hype and pages of Santa writing in cute code about updates to the game, and now that everything's to the contrary they can't go back and reverse on their expectations, now can they? Santa should have told them he didn't plan to deliver squat until Christmas. Maybe.
Are you serious? To everyone else...how the tide has turned. You know, this would make for an interesting sociology study illustrating how to turn all out support into all out irritation. Thought I only saw that with G.W. Bush, and now we can add Minigore to that illustrious list. It's a sad day really when I can equate Minigore to G.W.
I think 9 is more of an opinion but otherwise well-said. I do remember someone saying something along the lines of "we plan this to be put into episodes like Pocket God" which at the time was releasing updates like every week it seemed. I believe that was the part that people remember and why they "whine" so much.
Although i wasn't here for that thread they didn't even promise they said plan which means that they didn't want to be held to a certain timeline which is good for them
Playing devil's advocate, the dev didn't do himself any favors by leaking pics of potential updates. Promise or plan really comes down to a game of semantics. Personally, I could care less whether they update or not in the near future. It's a one-dimensional game that cost me 99 cents...like a flea on a dog that I've already flicked off. In other words, let's not not get our unmentionables in a bunch.

Go through your history of post in this thread and notice that you keep saying the same thing. We know you are upset that the update isn't out. so are a lot of people. We know you feel cheated. we know you blame Mountain Sheep. You have been saying all this for months. Come back with a new point and then it wont be spam. If i remember correctly even you were once shocked that you are one of the top posters in this thread. 3. Your "points" 4,5,6, and 8 are all if not entirely, then at least significantly, opinion. And for your information, I am NOT making the same point over and over. As time goes on, what I've been saying has become more and more germane. Look, you obviously don't want to hear what I have to say, but after waiting this long, I don't care. People are angry with me because as the cliche goes, "the truth hurts".
You're right, and that's really sad. It's like this game came out with good intentions of promoting the main game like what A Quest For Knights Onrush did for Knights Onrush, but here it had the opposite effect. It's like right now I wouldn't be surprised if Hardgore came out in the middle of summer next year with two slime towers and a drunk John Gore running circles around them with an unfinished colour pallette.

Sure the devs may have made mistakes. But they admit to it and not once had they blamed it on anyone else. I mean its the devs' first iPhone game. They didn't know what to expect. Give them a break.
