GameClub Minigore (by Mountain Sheep)

Discussion in 'iPhone and iPad Games' started by vicente.ramirezch, Jul 30, 2009.

  1. Everytime I try to access the global high scores via Feint the game always crashes. Is this a bug that will be fixed in version 2.0?

No lite of Minigore has been done yet. We decided to focus on first spending our effort on stuff for you guys who have already bought the game. :)

We'll do a lite version eventually I think, and yes, it would probably boost our sales once we have a bit more to sell.

As mentioned elsewhere, timed limitations won't work but for example we've played around with the idea of letting free versions participate in paid-hosted co-op multiplayer matches. Kind of like Warcraft II and StarCraft worked back in the day, with just 1 CD.

I wonder how the hell you where testing the game on a single device...at this point we still don't get an update that is how the game should be in beginnin and it's rly noob..at this point if i was apple i removed the game from the stoRe,just that it crashes when you try to see online scores and then if you succed to nake a decent fix put it again on the store...disappointed use...

That still is timed game play. Also can you imagine the low ratings a lite version would get with just a minute of game play each session? People will complain why they are not getting at least a full level.

One level with co-op and two playable characters would work as a lite version once the full game is realized. Doing that will show what the game can do while not giving the freeloaders the whole kitchen sink in terms of a full game experience.

I think a lite version is not really an option since it's still ep1, but when we got more episodes with zombies, more character, weapons, leves, etc. I think making a lite version with only ep1. Till that time I think you will do more harm then good, with a lite version of the game in it's current state.

Is it posible to view topscores on the net for minigore? I can't watch the global topscores in the app, because of some bug crashing the app everytime I try.

It doesn't crash for me. I can see the leaderboard without a problem.

    I can't, but I could until I upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1, maybe it's a compatibility bug.

Why about ezone's scarecrow? It's timed.

Wait, didn't Timo say that ther was an early '2D' prototype for minigore a few hundred posts back? How far was that in development? Do the devs believe it be worthwhile to release it to gain revenue in the meantime while Minigore gets approved? Maybe even calling it Minigore 2D would double in getting more people familiarized with the Minigore we have now.

The video of that prototype looked like it had next to nothing in common with Minigore, but it did look quite good. I know I'd buy it.

This is out on PSP Mini's this Thursday. It will be interesting to see what version is being released there. Given there isn't any online functionality, I won't be getting it but I expect it will have more levels than the current iphone one.

all the PSP version is, is the iDevice minigore ported over but with better graphics and lots more furries allowed on screen. but im pretty sure it has all the characters n the grenade n stuff. it doesnt get any extra features (as far as i know)

I imagine it's pretty straightforward. The analogue nub will control John Gore and the shooting angle and then propably the X button to shoot.

Ah, but the problem with that is that you can't shoot at furries and move backwards (or in fact any other direction other than straight at the furries)

And this is a crucial aspect of gameplay to me.

it has directional buttons too. their easy to use as the whole pad is kind of one big button with 8axis (i think its 8) so its a fair alright substitute for an analogue stick, its not hard to use at all. its kind of like an analogue stick and directional buttons in one (just slightly harder to use then an analogue stick)

and it would be R1 to fire if anything as if it was x then it will be too hard to use the analogue and D-pad at the same time. + R1 makes the most sence

I doubt the psp version offers any more features than the one we are currently playing on idevices. A while back Timo said they would continue to focus on the development of the game on the iphone first. If the grenade and playable characters were already available we would surely see them in the next update. It would make no sense for them to hold them from us as we have been waiting much longer.

you are probably correct because once the grenade has been developed for one of the systems, the code shouldnt be that hard to change...as for more content you might be surprised because timo has shown us a lot of plans like for the zombies and the snow level...maybe he implimented them into the PSP version...the PSP version will probably be easier to update because sony wont have to go through the useless fart apps and flashlight ones...i expect that you will see more content quicker on the PSP version just because it takes less time to update. Im sure that Sony isnt going to spend one month testing the game just to tell them that it crashes or that it has a corrupted binary...lets just hope apple goes in that direction and the update doesnt take too long to come out
