My problem is not just the huge wait, but also that the content I've heard for the next two updates doesn't really change/enhance the game as expected. People keep talking about how the udates will make it a whole new game, but the changes I've heard are incredibly minor -- a head band that let's you take one more hit, a higher fire rate on the shotgun, a cosmetic change that let's you play the same game as envirobear (which I couldn't care less about.) Pretty much everyone acknowledges the game was not complete on release -- So where are the new levels, where are the new weapons, where's the story, where are the new enemies? Those are things that actually seem like updates to me. After three months we haven't even heard about any of those things being included in any of the updates being worked on. In truth I only paid $.99 cents for the game so I don't really care. I've spent about ten minutes with it before deciding to wait for the updates, and ten minutes for $.99 cents isn't bad, but all the promises and hype make me care a bit more than I otherwise would.
Your not reading carefully enough. The next update wont add much content, but they are working hard on other stuff already. Understandable you missed some details since there are 3000 posts. But really, if you dont at least like the game *as is*, I cant imagine why the addition of zombies, cosacks, a grenade, co-op play, or new playable toons is going to somehow make you like it. The updates will make it a lot better for people that already like it, but think its a little skimpy on content. If you dont even think its worthy of more than 10 minutes now, you should probably just move on. Just my two cents
Oh, I do like the gameplay and style quite a bit, but the game is very much lacking in content at the moment, so I decided to wait until it's more complete before I spend time with it. I know other people are different, but I don't like spoilers, I don't like partial experiences, I don't like my first impression to ve diluted by 'well I've seen this and I'm bored of that from having done it so much.' There's supposed to be a final vision of this game that includes levels, a story, more enemies, more weapons, etc. I wanted to hold off plating until those things existed so that I'm not bored with the main gameplay mechanic by the time they come out. At the same time, I can't se. Getting much more than maybe an hour out if the current level of content before it started feeling WAY to limited. I spent about eight hours on Alive 4 Ever because of all the content, and I know I'll be playing it again soon because their new update includes some really cool new content (two new survival modes that have at least eight different enemy types, more than 30 weapons, healthpacks, secondary objectives, etc. That's on to of the 30 missions the fame already had. But now I'm off topic. I like these types of games, I like the minigore style, and I think if the promised content is released the game will be great. I just don't think there's enough content now to keep me playing, and I'd rather wait for substantial updates that make it a more complete game before I spend time with it so that I'm getting a full rather than incremental impression. If that makes sense. Anyway, I wish mountain sheep well, I just hope they start putting together some substantial updates.
Almost 3,000 posts on a one level (stage), one enemy, 3 weapons survival shooter with no updates. If anyone doesn't see how weak this game is. Actually the characters you see in the splashscreen makes it seem as if this has a whole back story & other people to use....Lego starwars like. But plain & simple....minigore is weak (right now)
Just to reiterate -- I don't feel ripped off or anything. Minigore is worth the $.99 asking price as is. There are other games for the same price that offer much, much more gameplay and content -- but that just makes them fantastic deals. Minigore is worth its $.99 price even if no further content comes out. But without updates it isn't deserving of all the hype it's received, much of which stemmed from the promised updates.
+1 Very well said concidering I've paid the same or more for less content (batmobile mobile game) but that's not saying much. .99cents...I think it should be free at this point & maybe go back up when there is an update.
But everyone will get it for free and then when the update comes out nobody will get it because they have already got it.
True but everyday there is a new iPhone or iPod customer....future sales adjusment is all I'm suggesting. Maybe someone that gets it for free will get the update but his friend who was always on the fence will now have to by it.
They're not going to make it free, it'll get terrible ratings from kids who don't appreciate that it would be free, and people who bought it would give it one star complaining they were ripped off.
I like the game and play it sometimes. I think is no fault of developers if apple don´t approve the updates yet. Anyone not liking the game just don´t waste your time arguing or trying to change others opinion
I agree to some point. F.A.S.T (which I paid for) kind of went backwards on this but it still took a review hit from people that bought it at ten bucks thinking they got ripped when it plumeted to 99cents & 99cent adopters reviewed it as such...a 99cent game. But after the pretty sad update everyone kind of felt ripped or the update could have been more substantial. But I don't think minigore will get many more adopters at this point who will feel after a couple plays they should have bought somthing else. If the price goes up after a good update a lot of people might buy it depending on how much the price goes up depending on the content amount, they may feel it worth it. But SGN should have started out low & then to high, but even with it's update it would never be worth $10
I can see feeling ripped on a ten dollar app dropping to 99 cents in a month but 99cents to free....you either paid a dollar or it was free...not a real big rip off. But there are those people out there. But if you thought it was worth 99cents then why wouldn't it be worth that just cause it might be free later. That's what the purchaser thought it was worth or else they wouldn't have bought it.
I'm starting to wonder if even the Minigore fanboys will still be interested in it by the time it's "finished". I mean, it's been what, 3 months and the first mini update still isn't out. At this rate, we won't see the finished version until sometime in 2012, and by then it won't matter because the world's coming to an end anyway. After all, even John Gore can't stop the Apocalypse. I guess my real question is, are charming graphics and funny voice-overs enough to keep people interested in a game that gets updated every 6 months?
there is not going to be an apocalypse, the same thing was said about 2000 and 2006, all superstition so get that thought out of your head, and this game is no different, its been two months this update has been supposedly floating around above us, i do not hold apple responsible, i hold chillingo, its their game, so therefore its their problem, theyre allowing apple to do this, so no one should really be acting so sympathetic towards them, in the business world you have to do everything in your power to get to the top and to get what you want, chilingo? ha what a joke thats the reason why theyre croaking right now
I personally cant wait for the grenade! Timo, will enviro-bear have his special ability (john's grenade) when he is in the game? Or do we have to wait for another update for his ability?
