Voted! And I just beat the game for the first time as john. That was so good. My favorite character so far is gangster gore, what about you guys?

Well, I'm only level 16, so I can't say for sure, but I really enjoy the ninja! Love this game so much!

    Jouni,

I am reposting part of my previous post below since this thread is blazing.

I was also wondering if there is a determining factor for how often weapon drops occur and how the game chooses which weapons appear in the drop. Does how upgraded a weapon is determine how often it drops?

Sometimes it feels as though weapons drop in bunches rather quickly and other times I am walking around and can't find any. Also, there will be times when one type of weapon appears over and over and other times there is more of a mix. I definitely know I'm not getting my dual cannons enough! Haha.

And I also think I noticed a glitch... When your character turns into the 'raging bull' I noticed that, while in this form, I can sometimes still shoot my weapons, while other times I can't. This doesn't seem to be intentional.

Do you think we could get some AA on the characters in the main menu?

I've been really enjoying the game so far! And I'm not really into zombies, either -- I think this is the first zombie game I've ever played, actually. So kudos for making a great game all around!

Amy chance of leaderboards and and achievements through Game Center? I'm only seeing the "Stay Up Late" achievement right now.

Speaking of which -- I'm curious how rounds are scored. At the end of almost every round, John says "A new record!" -- which at first I thought was because I kept getting better at the game, but then started happening even when I would die very quickly on the same map. Any insight as to how score is kept, if at all, and whether competitive leaderboards are something we might see in the near future?

    Thanks for a great game!

Edit: Looks like I'm not the only one wondering about high scores and the like -- sorry for the repetitive question! Would love to find out the answer if anyone has it, though. :)

There are some enemies that will drop specific kind of weapons, so the level you play has a lot of influence on what kind of weapons you end up with - additionally there are some specific weapon drops as part of the level sequence.

This is definitely a glitch, a raging bull shooting weapons is definitely overpowered. ;) We'll look and see how that could happen.

    Kudos for supporting us! :)

There's a chance... that's the only achievement right now. :)

There are all kinds of internal metrics, but I think John's yell is probably just something he does right now regardless of how much you killed. Competitive leaderboards were originally in the plans but the game turned out a bit different, de-emphasizing the need for score or leaderboards but I can see how some people miss those. We'll see what happens, can't make any promises. :)

Man, talk about a tough week to be up for vote. Well... at least we're nominated! May the most fun game win. :)

Thanks for the quick reply! I've been showing off the game to a bunch of friends and coworkers -- they've been impressed with how great it looks on the retina iPad, and watching me play it with a pair of Flings. It's one of the reasons I'm interested in the leaderboards -- I want to see how my Minigore converts and I stack up against each other. ;-)

We don't have a plan, but it's something that would be nice to do if we were certain enough that there's a market for it. The Mac AppStore version of Bike Baron has been selling okay and that indicates we might do well to go for it.

Playing with a pair of flings on an iPad is great, a perfect solution for sore thumbs from staying up too late playing Minigore. :)

Hopefully we can find out who rules...

Runs beautifully on an iPad Mini. In fact, it might be the best device around to play Minigore just because of the form factor, even though it's not retina resolution. :)

Awesome! Actually, it works really well on my iPod touch 4g (actually one of the most lag free games on there), so I cannot wait to load it up on the mini when I get it! :D cheers for making the best dual stick shooter on the AppStore! Well worth 1.99!

So, are you saying that if I have, for example, the single machine gun upgraded to level 10, the dual cannons to level 5 and the dual shotgun to level 3, that the single machine gun will appear the most because it is the most upgraded? This is what it feels like, since the single machine gun is dropping at a much higher rate compared to the others, no matter which board I am on.

Got my vote this week, and this was an impressive week. Thanks again for your efforts, both with the game and in the thread.

Sorry, I was trying to say that because of the mix of enemies on specific stages, the stage you select to play on (out of the current 7) influences what weapons you end up with. Gun level shouldn't affect it... I think. :)

OK, I understand. The level of the upgrades doesn't determine the drop, but the boards themselves will and so will the enemies you kill.

Without annoying you too much more :) do you happen to know which levels produce certain weapons the most, or which enemies drop certain weapons?

This also makes me think that if you have only certain weapons equipped (like me with just the dual weapons) that they may not appear as much as they should on certain levels. Hmmm.

    Thanks Jouni.

    Hello all,

I have only played this game for a couple of days so far, but it is outrageously simple yet addicting. At first, I was disappointed by how few weapons, maps, and characters there were, but as I leveled up, I soon found out why there were so little to start off with. The iAP model for this game imo, feels perfect. Even with the 2X coin, it is still somewhat difficult to gather up the amounts needed to upgrade weapons, maps, and characters. Since there are no coin packages, just weapon/character unlocks, you can either buy everything and then be bored with the game, or set out to unlock everything through normal play.

The only thing I find weird is how, usually, when I'm in the middle of a mob, swinging/firing my weapon, I don't lose health. It's almost as if I'm attacking fast enough that nothing can touch me. I'm using auto aim by the way.

Anyways, I'd give this game a 7/5 if possible.
