personally I think this game is fantastic, It may have bugs (mind you I must be lucky, cause apart from losing all my progress when I updated to iOS 5.0.1 from 4.3.3, I don't seem to have had any real issues) but I think the content, variety of tracks and vehicles, the graphics and sound all stack up to make this one of the best racers available... just sayin'
Mini Motor Racing (and HD) update 1.1.1 in testing Hey guys, We have update 1.1.1 in testing now that should resolve the last of the crashing issues. Here are the current notes for the update (subject to change till final testing is completed): - Crash fix for 256mb devices (iPod4 & iPad1) - Increased width of 'Desert' track to help with late game progress - Increased width of 'Cliffs' track to help with late game progress - Added further checks to ensure data is not lost between iCloud and local saves - Optimized in-game performance for older devices increasing frame rates and decreasing stuttering - Added flip orientation option for all devices We hope to have this in submission to Apple within 24hours. Please note that restarting your device (closing any app/games in the task bar then completely turning the device off then back on) will help with crashes with the current live version 1.1 - we recommend all users upgrade to this version for the best experience as many optimizations have already been made. We'll continue to monitor feedback as always. Rest assured we read every post and will continue to support Mini Motor Racing and it's community for a long time to come! Cheers, - Ingmar
The same could be said for almost every gaming platform ever created, I'm not sure why anyone expected more from the App Store.
I suppose, considering the huge number of games in general and pretty large number of good games, I thought there would be more devs doing the games in this genre. Especially considering the demand.
Yes, I imagine it would be. There is so much detail in this game. Just collision physics would have been a nightmare to program. How many of you are there working on this game? Good luck with it!
+1 We need more of this! There is just one more thing im still missing on my iphone4S/ipad2: A good destruction derby kinda game with lots of car parts flying around Maybe an idea for your next game TheBinaryMill/JTBentley??
well, i am in the same situation facing the same issues with not saving game progress after closing the app. i wish devs themselves answer that question.
We've implemented a much more strict checking system between local & iCloud saving, which we're going to be testing very heavily over the next eight or so hours, now that we've dealt with the 256mb iPod 4/iPad 1 problems. Every time any of you report a bug on here, it's added to a spreadsheet, prioritised, reproduced and then fixed... So we really appreciate all your feedback on here, and thank the people who've replied to personal messages while we try to collate data about the source of these bugs. What we also want to see, is feedback on what you like about the game. Future tracks, cars, cups, music, tweaks, are most likely going to be driven by your feedback... As they say, give the people what they want
Tracks: Amazon Rainforest More Winter Tracks Japanese/Asian Racing Themed Track Track Hazards: Water Puddles Oil Slicks Weather Effects: Fog Thunder Storm Blizzard Power Ups: Earthquake (shakes screen makes cars lose control or stability, if your car is on a jump when one is activated it throws you off) Oil Slick Front Grille (pushes through pileups but only usable once) More than anything i'd like to see things like getting stuck on the wall removed and faster respawns. I'd also like to see jumps where you don't have to hit them perfectly to prevent getting stuck on a wall and jumps where you can actually boost, hit them and not crash or get stuck. Meaning you'd create it just after a curve on a straightaway so you have plenty of time to land and still make the next turn. I'd also like to see the amazon rainforest done in a donkey kong (snes) like style where things look waxy and shiney.
Congrats, this game really is a lot of fun! My kids love it as well Before updating to the newest version, the screen rotation would switch depending on which way you were holding the iPad. Sadly, the game doesn't do this any more. It would be great if you could reinstall this, cause now, in order to play, I have to hold the iPad with the home button on the left hand side, muffling my speaker in the process. Without the music, the game is just not that much fun... As far as suggestions go, instead of a multitude of "mini" tracks, I would also like to see some longer ones with nice sceneries. Also, the art style just somehow reminds me of Pixar's Cars. Maybe you could license those from disney and put them in as an upgrade. I think that would be a perfect fit for your game. The kids would love it, that is for sure. Keep up the great work. I have been waiting for this game for a while now, and you guys did not disappoint! Greetings from austria.
Took a chance on this game, SO glad I did! I'm really impressed, it has really nice and substatial phyics, beutiful grahics (iPhone 4s) and really a nice variety of both vehicles and enviroments. Things that have really impressed me: Scale, especially on the Alpine Coarse. I love the feeling of depth as I climb the hill then go down again. Really a first in a top-down racer. Bravo! I like the lack of in race items, I hope the dev doesn't tack on the cliche and tacky typical items/weapons. I have Death Rally for that! Graphics. Sublte dust elements and the nice use of light on the car models especially. Really polished. Variety. Yes, a wide range of diverse tracks and a healthy collection of vehicles. Love being able to pain them free of charge from the get-go. Upgrades. Very nice, this paired with the developers participation here sold me on the game. Its nice to upgrade your car as the tracks progress. Things I'd like to see: Something to make drifting worthwhile. Drifting is fun, I like it, it feels right, and it seems to really be core to the gameplay, so why not make it more so? Like a money multiplier for time spent in a drift? Get rid of the current boost system and replace it with a "Boost Tank" set-up, one can use the boost which empties the tank, to refill/recharge the tank, drift more. Upgrades can either be a larger tank (hence longer, harder boost) or faster recharge while in drift. I do love the "hold on tight, here we go" feeling of the boost system now. That's awesome! I hope you guys keep adding tracks and content once you add all the features you are planning on. Either way, already worth the $1.99 as its a polished, just plain fun top-down racer. Nice!
Thanks for the quick update. Sorry to say the game is still crashing for me on the ipad 1 following the update. I haven't updated the 3GS yet. My achievements don't seem to have changed either, in that I still have the one for completing the game, and I don't have the achievements that I know I've completed. The crashing is still the big issue though.
I agree, the icon is brilliant. I've got to put a vote against the powerup ideas though. It's possible you could get them to work, but there seems to be a fairly large chance it'll just annoy people if the AI can start spamming earthquakes and missiles at the player. I really like the focus being the players driving skills rather than how lucky they are with their item pickups. If you're gonna add them, do it carefully
Yes the game is great but there's nothing wrong with the boost system as it is right now. I fear if he developer start to listen to all these crazy feedbacks, in a few updates down he road, MMR will be a completely different game and I don't want that to happen. The formula is set and great. What we need like some other members have suggested are more varied tracks (I would not mind a couple of larger tracks personally), more cars and of course 6 car online multiplayer! But I really hope the dev gets rid of those invisible walls n barriers cars keep on getting stuck in. Very annoying when your car is clearly on the ground but yet you can't move!
