I'm sorry but a change like this goes against all common sense, and I don't suffer fools gladly given the choice. There's no "correct" setting for screen orientation. It is a preference. To make the conscious decision to please one group of people only to upset another (who as you noted were to this point quietly content) in this instance is absurd. If a toggle was taking too long to implement, it is the people complaining who should have been reassured that it's coming and asked to wait.
Based on the feedback we were receiving and the time we had left to get the update out, we had to make an on the spot decision regarding iPad orientation. Never fear, the next update will include an orientation toggle!
constant crashes, almost every race I'm on an iPod touch 4g 4.3.3 jailbroken, and i am still crashing ( same happens in safe mode ) there also still some bugs with the nitro count thanks to the developer for keeping up with our feedback, best game i've bought in a while..... also on the latest update 1.1
Please explain "feedback." Complaints? How is it not a matter of common sense to you that all the people not complaining were fine with the orientation as is? Did the number of complaints exceed 50% of your total sales? What about all the simple, logical facts? Smart Cover. Volume buttons. Just two factors that were mentioned in the last handful of posts. Were these factors ever considered, or was the solitary driving force behind the change "feedback?" How did you come to choose the orientation for the game's initial release? By flipping a coin?
1. Love your game. Like most people around here, there is only anger because this game has star potential and it feels buggy. This forum can single handedly make or break this game and most want Mini Motor Racing to succeed and reach far beyond what was expected. Listen to the community and they will support your creations and future projects with word of mouth. 2. I understand the boost needs to be utilized correctly and not before a jump or turn, but some of the track layouts (desert) are a little too tight for the camera angles or using the boost at all. Many races later in the game are phone-throwing cluster ####s leaving you wanting some more space. 3. I know that you were going for a "4x4 Offroad arcade game" feel but could you just make the tracks longer, wider, with crazy scenery and, well, just a top down motorstorm. I personally want this game to go farther than this vision and need a motorstorm (ps vita) rival. Need development $$$. Hit me back and I'll donate.
I started the game up after downloading 1.1, and I had the same crash glitch after the first race. BUT. I chose a different car, and it all worked better than expected. Haven't had any crashes since. Thank you, oh Developers at The Binary Mill!
Smart covers are only for iPad 2. There's a lot of iPad 1's. Regardless, stay tuned, we'll have it sorted in the next update
No this forum cannot make or break any game. Get back to reality dude. While the game had some issues, the devs have been more than generous at replying and keeping us updated. Y Why should the tracks be wider? That is the whole point you know! If an easy challenge is what you want than maybe this is not the game for you. Valid complaints are the ones about bugs and what not, but you seem to have a problem with the game play itself which means you are playing the wrong game. Dear devs, I hope in listening to the community, you will know which feedback make sense and which whiners to ignore. Thanks for the nice update and I pray that you start working on multiplayer soon. It seems pretty clear that the casual crowed are getting angry cause the game is no longer a walk in the park at later levels, I say if you can't handle the heat, get that ass out the kitchen. Screw Tiny Towers, MMR is the real iOS GOTY!
To its credit Death Rally doesn't stop and stutter like Mini Motor. I tell ya, if MM didn't have the stopping and stuttering it would be yet more fantastic. Part of this is my fault, however, since I have a device from two years ago. And the game only costs $2 dollars. For such a low price what the devs have given us is freaking fantastic. I applaud them. I can only wonder what they could achieve with a larger budget and a higher asking price. Knowing what I bought I'd easily pay double or triple or quadruple for something with more content and polish.
I haven't downloaded the update yet but reports of crashing and track issues that were supposed to have been fixed are dissappointing. Is it what we should do then to avoid further crashes? Start with a new car? I think I'll just delete and reload the game just to be sure. I couldn't get past the 4th race anyway. I look forward to all the bugs being fixed. It shows how good the game is that regardless of the issues so many people defend it. Most other games having the same issues would be shot down in flames and forgotten after the first 2 days.
Honestly, this thread is beginning to feel like it should be called Occupy MMR. Can't tell if people are just really passionate or just completely nuts.
Been playing for an hour or so tonight and it seems there are still a fair amount of bugs to be worked out but the biggest ones seem to have been addressed. I still haven't played all the tracks but so far so good. For those who think the races are too short just wait until the last circuit. Most of the races are 12-18 laps, which seem to take forever. Especially when compared to the first 2/3 of the game. I am feeling much better about the game now that some of the issues have been resolved. I apologize for ranting but this game has been on my radar for quite some time.
Ah, the days of the Minigore hype and the countdown threads...sure don't miss that I'm almost surprised by all the hoopla surrounding MMR, even though it is very good. Too bad there's so many stability issues, and I am talking about the game here
Well, it seems that there is a serious deficiency of good top down racers. There are a few out there but most are very average. Horror Racing was probably the first one that showed what can be done on the platform (I know you didn't like it very much, Big Albie). Reckless Racing and Death Rally are the only ones that really stand head and shoulders above a handful of others out there. Thats why so many people rush in to play this game and when expectations clash with reality - well... I am sure that once all the bugs are fixed there will be nothing more to say and the thread would die down only to be revived when new updates come.
Well, this time it didn't crash until after 4 races(this is on version 1.1). Rest I'd the game is really good and people should be offering constructive criticism and not crazy rants. Hey atleast their dedicated to keep working on it as long as it's being worked on I'm happy. Also, no the game should not have longer or wider tracks it's not real racing....jeez, it reminds me of those little penny racers... And pile ups are cool, in fact I wish there was more....chasing down one car gets boring....
Well, i updated my HD version to 1.1 but: -Gc achievements are still bugged -still getting booted out of the game after the last race of the last champions cup meaning i cant finish the game It's an awesome game but still needs some patching up.
