Hmm looks interested and good value 99 holes sounds good. I was looking for a good mini-golf game too but the ones already released seem to get bad reviews and all hope this ones good. DC seems to have made quality games so far so thats something.

Looks pretty cool, would love to hear some opinions from people who've tried it.

I love the cartoony graphics that DChoc has. This game has that cartoony element and actually looks pretty cool. Only thing is I'm not really into mini golf...it's all about Let's Golf!

Digital Chocolates games are always really really good and pollished in my opinion.

Too bad none of them have really been my type. This one although, I may consider. Is there a lite version like most of their other games?

No lite version yet but Im 99.9% sure there will be, look at the desc. on itunes it lists "Premium features" prob for those that end up trying the lite version whenever it hits.

No lite ver. Yet, I just might have to get this. Reminds me of the old school flash game with better graphics.

What is it about DCHOC games that makes me think they are still stuck in the mindset that they are developing for older java or brew cellphones?
All of their games scream "cheesy" to me for some reason. I think it's the low frame animations...

Hmm, that video actually doesn't impress me.

    Anyone notice a trend?

The quality in their games are starting to go down. Graphics wise, I mean.

I'm too busy with Let's Golf! To be honest, I don't like the look of this mini-golf game. I'd rather one like the iPod version.

I'm assuming that video is for non-iDevices. It was posted Nov 2008.

    TOFTT results

Okay, I played only 11 out of 99 holes, so consider the following points to simply be first impressions:

    Pros:
    • 99 holes is a lot of content.
    • Multiple golfers, each with a different special ability (including a Mexican wrester named el Macho Mustacho!) add decision-making and depth.
    • It has diverse hole design, with bumps, jumps, and bends.
    Cons:
    • The iPhone is capable of displaying a much better presentation; it doesn't feel polished to level that other titles are. Instead, it seems like a mobile phone game on a bigger screen.
    • The controls are sometimes fidgety.
    • There is a powershot function, but the player's thumb obscures the view of the tap location.
    • They teach you all the special characters, up front, which would have been better as rewards at intervals throughout the game. You do unlock them, but you've already seen all their powers.
I think the quality of the remaining content will determine whether this is a worth 3 bucks, so please don't consider this to be a review of the game. It was just my turn to take one for the team.

If I was to purchase a Digital Chocolate game from their current sale, I would choose Chocolate Shop Frenzy or Tower Bloxx Deluxe over this title. If I was choosing between this and Let's Golf, Let's Golf wins by a country mile. If you think you might like the game, definitely buy it now, because the current price point better justifies a purchase than $5 would. If someone else plays further into it, please post your impressions.
