I know each game is different, but search around the 1500-1800 depth. Also, I find huge pockets of minerals surrounding dungeons (especially below). Again, might just be coincidence...
To the devs, Will this game be available for Android soon, I understand that you had plans to bring this game to google play? Thanks
This game is ok. The visuals are good, I have to admit. But it feels like it misses something. I have been mining (grinding) for the past hour and I don't even know if I'm close to something cool. I found some caves, a statue and a lot of minerals, but what is the goal? I don't know, mini goals or places that actually do something. Also please a map. It feels like "I dig it" game, but less fun. The mining takes too much time. If the minerals were closer, it would be ok, but they are so far away! For 5$, I'm not happy ( and I spend 30$/month on games)
The statue gives you access to a dungeon. You mine materials so you can craft better equipment so you can mine more materials so you can craft better equipment so you can mine better materials so you can craft better equipment...and then take on the dungeons.
Woah, WickeyWare is truly a good guy game dev. Thanks SO much for PMing me the final bits of dialog I missed. Really really enjoyed my time with the game. I actually quite like the initial lack of obvious direction that others have mentioned. It makes finding the cool stuff way more interesting and makes you feel like you've actually discovered something rather than just been led from point A to point B. And yeah early mining takes time but focus on the pickaxe upgrades and you'll be zooming through the blocks like crazy.
^ I'm at the same point as you are. Without revealing any spoilers, So what next? Is game finished at this point?
Ok just bought it and very excited but this is my last game I'm buying of the year I'm wasting to much money man...
I feel the same. When I began playing, I thought it would be fantastic, but after 2h digging, it's just ok. I learnt about Steamworld Dig for the 3DS in this thread, I bought that one too and I'm enjoying it much more than this one, even though they look as the same game (albeit one being in Mars and another in the Far West with robots). When you play both, you notice the small differences which make one better than the other (my opinion, mind). I want to love Mines of Mars, but I need: - A map: yes, it seems I'm the only one who's missing it, but in Steamworld Dig there's a map which is formed as you dig and it helps a lot. I don't need to be told where to go, I just need to see what I've discovered. - More variety and quicker progress: in 1h of playing Steamworld Dig, I've found more gadgets, technologies and I have an overall "better feel of progress" than in 2h in Mines of Mars. Since Steamworld Dig was released around 9 months ago, I guess Mines of Mars is based a lot on that one. This is not bad at all, even more since Steamworld Dig doesn't seem to be available on iOS, but I feel the game's still missing key features to make it a 5-star game (even though it looks as such when you first play).
Seven hours in and taking my time please tell me we can get something better then the iron pick axe. Also what do you use the pit of offering for?
you should be able to get a bronze pick axe within the first 10 minutes of playing, just by getting a few bits of bronze, iron, and opal. offering pit is for gambling. I wouldn't use it til later in the game when you have lots of ores to spend.
You beat the whole game in 9 hours? Wow. I'm 9 hours in currently and I'm only 40% complete! Can you screenshot your stats page?
Great Game! Wow. Couple of things: 1. Chests don't seem to work. Items are never posted to inventory 2. Not recieving any help from boys even the ones that are supposed to help
Really amazing game which I'm glad since it's my last game of the year I'm buying. But I don't like how I can't mine upwards it's bothering the heck out of me.
