I don't mean to interrupt the bickering but is there any truth to the claim that this won't be updated and won't get survival?

Looking at Daniel's Twitter, the notable comments of the last 10 days seem to be:

It's not possible to get it "similar" to the desktop version (could mean many things, most obviously map size).
He didn't say he was implementing survival (but also doesn't say he won't).
They have a plan for furture development of Minecraft Pocket Edition.
They will hopefully present a roadmap for Minecraft PE next week (written 4 days ago).

Disappointing but it all sounds vague enough that it could mean many things until they clarify. Given what has been achieved with Eden and the likes of Mooncraft, it would seem odd if the official Minecraft app was left lacking, especially as it launched at what is (for the app store) a fairly premium price.

As a builder app, I prefer Eden but have been working with Minecraft in the hopes that it gets the updates.

You say a negative post on this forum, with a game that some people rate.
Then you get comments that suck.
I tried the game didn't like it . End of

So why are you still here? All it's gonna do is cause trouble. Find a game you like and post on that thread.

    For real? That's disappointing.

It's not the negative comment but the manner in which it is presented. Clearly there are people that love the game as is on the thread. You don't need to annoy them.

With SO many apps on the app store you can definitely find something else you like I am sure. You can then go post in that thread.

Maybe consider complete sentences too. Not quite sure of some of what you said right here, but skipping to your last line, I am hopeful that you mean this is the "end of it" for you in the thread.

  8. The website was updated today with details of their plans for the Pocket Edition: http://mojang.com/2011/12/05/the-plan-for-minecraft-pocket-edition/

Obviously the Pocket Edition will never be as big as the PC version, but it's nice to know that they're working on introducing crafting and survival. I bought the game on launch because I know they would update with it, eventually!

I am happy with the plans they've laid out thus far. Looking forward to the updates.

Any word on if redstone will ever come? But, as long as we get crafting and survival, I'm happy

This is exactly why people need to quit complaining about everything under the sun. In one swift move, Mojang have done exactly what most of us told you they would and made you look like impatient, foolish little children.

I don't have an android device, so I sure hope they have a sale over here. 99 cents would be fine.

99 cents do feel overpriced now, considering Android users get it for 0.10. Make it free and add additional features via IAP.

    What features would you suggest?

Off the top of my head, I guess the top two should be:

    (1) Mining
    (2) Crafting

Joking aside, I'll buy this title at any price once it's approaching the PC version but until then it just seems kind of pointless - more a tech demo than anything else.

    Jamie.
