For those of you who are new to Mimpi there's a ton of spoilers on the main game thread if you get stuck. It's a while since I completed it but I'm happy to help anyone who gets stuck if I can remember.
My 2c on the "waiting for a sale" debate: I've spent over a thousand dollars on iTunes credit, and I don't buy songs. So while people say "99c is nothing, support the dev" 99c IS something, there are over 3 million games on the AppStore, so if 99c is nothing, why don't you go spend 3 million dollars buying every game then! 99c may not be much alone, but combined it adds up very quickly. I used to spend tons on AppStore purchases, but the worse thing is, I'd almost never even play the game, let alone finish it. I am spending hundreds of dollars on a cheap thrill of pressing the buy button. I've tried to curb my spending habits the past few months because I shouldn't be spending so much money on games I rarely even play.. It really does become an addiction. So I see no problem at all when people wait for sales..however ranting and raving when you paid for a game that goes free is uncalled for. You win some, you lose some. For every game you purchased that went free, you've probably gained 3 free games, it all works out in the end, so you can't complain. And if it's a good game you shouldn't feel regret at all. I sometimes feel slightly regretful when I pay premium price for a game that I didn't even enjoy, to then see it go free the next week, especially when it goes "freemium". But raging for that is completely warranted in my opinion. At the end of the day, we could jailbreak our devices and get all these games for free, not supporting a single developing, and not even contributing to other factors, like where the game site on the charts and reviewing the game in the AppStore, which is not a very nice thing to do to indie devs who need all the support they can get. So when you see people waiting for a sale, at least they are legitimately contributing instead of just mooching with a jailbroken devices. I could have saved thousands of dollars if I had of just jailbroken my device, but I didn't, and don't, and clearly the others who wait for sales don't either, so in my opinion, they are not cheapskates who are ruining the app market, that title is saved for jailbreakers. But then again, some people don't ever spend a dime and just wait for games to go free..I'm not sure how I feel about those types of people just yet, on one hand, they are never supporting the dev monetarily, however they possibly contribute to ratings, charts, game centre, and reviews, which is contributing in a way, at least they are jail breaking... But it would be nice to sling a few dollars at games you've really enjoyed once in a while. I've spent hundreds of dollars on several different MMO's, thousands of dollars in total, and I'm a broke student who only plays games casually. Gaming is freakin' expensive. TL;DR Sale hunters are better than jailbreakers who just steal every game and don't contribute to the entire AppStore process in general. I guess it's like comparing thieves, to people who buy severely discounted goods. So at the end of the day, seeing people rage about paying 99c for a game that later went free, it's still better than jailbreakers because atleast they support developers, even with their infantile behavior.
You can install games from a 3rd party AppStore via the iPhone without a jailbreak. Just Sayin' but I agree with you ^
Sorry for quoting such a long comment, but i agree so much with you. I'm not able to express myself in english like you, so most of the time i prefer read and not replying. In this case, i think the same, i have hundred and hundred apps i don't launch, i bought a lot of them. At the end, i prefer to wait for a sale, because i rarely play. And if i like the game, i try to buy the game, or another from the devs, or the same on my pc... It depend. I think exactly like you said, thanks!
Yeah, the stigma of jailbreak prevents people to realize that now even without doing it one can still pirate apps. It annoys me when the other day I asked a guy if he knew any interesting games that are cheap, he gave me this look then asked why I bothered finding a sale if I have jailbroken my iPad Anyway to be on topic, Mimpi is fun. Get it folks.
