Those who love a good platformer will want to add this one to their collections immediately." - TouchArcade (5 out of 5) "Miles and Kilo is a brilliant game through and through. It's clearly been put together with such love that it's almost impossible not to get wrapped up in it." - PocketGamer (8 out of 10) "A cracking mobile-optimised platform game with lashings of personality and inventiveness." - Stuff.tv (4 out of 5, App of the Week) "This platformer is so immaculately designed that it's hard to put down." - 148Apps (4.5 out of 5) The sequel to Kid Tripp is finally here! Misfortune catches up with Miles as he crashes on a perilous island yet again; but this time his trusty canine pal, Kilo, is joining the fun. Features: • Super fast retro platforming action! • 5 unique islands, each with a boss fight at the end. 36 challenging levels total. • An awesome chiptune soundtrack written by Chris Kukla. • Story scenes with an old-school flavor. • Tons of new moves, including sliding, fruit-throwing, wall-jumping, rope-swinging, somersaulting, and more! • Super simple control scheme. Just tap on the left side of the screen to jump and tap on the right side to perform an action. (Actions include sliding if you're in front of a tunnel, punching if you're in front of a breakable wall, etc.) • Online leaderboards track your total time, number of deaths, and final score in each complete playthrough of the game. Have you got what it takes to make it to the top? Happy to answer any questions you have. AndyC83 played the beta and told me something similar. You guys have no idea what a relief it is to hear that, haha. Thank you. Yep! It's designed to feel like sprinting through Super Mario Bros./Adventure Island/etc. with "right" held down. That was a challenge I'd give myself in those old games, and it's part of the inspiration behind Kid Tripp. That said, for anyone who's bought the game already: If you have an MFi game controller, could you try testing it with this game? I included controller support in my desktop build and I'm pretty sure it at least partially works on iOS, but I don't own an MFi controller so I haven't been able to test it myself. It may not work perfectly because the Unity iOS controller bindings are a bit different than the PC controller bindings. On the world map screen, tap the "< STORY MODE >" text at the top to switch to practice mode. This lets you replay levels, but you can't advance to new levels in this mode. You also can't earn S-ranks in practice mode, though I may end up changing that in the future. Wasn't sure how he would top Kid Tripp but he definitely did. The cutscenes and everything are done super well. Get ready for a retro challenge. Hope I can find the time this week to attack the leaderboards. noteatino Well-Known Member Jun 27, 2014 555 0 0 #16 noteatino, May 10, 2017 Your game is a delight. The amount of love that went into this is palpable. Every little corner feels polished, and even navegating all of the different parts of the menu feels very neat. A nice detail is that you have to punch the board at the end to finish the level. The aesthetics and music are really well made and the controls are spot on for a game like this that requires quick reactions. The whole package feels like an adventure worth to dive into! retr0spective Well-Known Member May 24, 2011 915 17 18 Riverside, CA #17 retr0spective, May 11, 2017 Last edited: May 11, 2017 This looks insane! There's a few reasons you can't replay levels normally. Originally, there were branching paths in the game. So you'd choose which branch to take, and once you chose a path to take you were committed to it and couldn't go back. The idea was I'd have multiple paths of varying difficulty, and the only way to see them all would be to play the game multiple times (like an RPG), and the story might pan out differently depending on the paths you'd take. While I got the system working, unfortunately it ended up being too much work for me to design enough levels and story content for all the paths, so there ended up just being a single linear path in the final game. What I'll probably end up doing eventually is change the two modes into "Story" and "Time Attack". The new Story mode would basically be the current practice mode (where you can replay levels to your heart's content), except you could also progress to new levels. Time attack would be the more hardcore mode where you can't replay levels, and your scores get posted to the leaderboards. I'm also considering changing how S-ranks are calculated. I made them obscenely hard to get to help add to the game's replayability, but I think I went a little overboard, haha. metalwastebasket Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2017 161 55 28 #20 metalwastebasket, May 11, 2017 Mike, I've got a rather interesting query. I'm not sure if it was ever brought up on one of your Twitter accounts, but why did you opt to go with naming the game Miles and Kilo rather than Kid Tripp 2?
