I'm surprised that I still have 1 promo code left from last night. Guess things get quiet around here on a Friday night. First person to PM me gets it.
Haha, yeah I'd much rather have folks buy it, considering we are pretty much falling off all the charts now. The Apple N&N and What's Hot helped us on iPad side, but no love from Apple on the iPhone side of things. All the codes are gone now!
For anyone playing challenge mode competitively jackmule started a "Mikey Shorts Challenge Mode leaderboard ". Thread For individual level scores current known high is 41,493 but only a few guys contributing pop over! scores can help as they helped me and maybe you have sonething to add too Also how do you play currently playing as cringo Mikey http://i.imgur.com/TddMX.png
Are you asking for the ability to hold the slide button while in the air, so that when Mikey finally touches down he will slide? I don't think we'll add an option for that, only because a part of the challenge, and getting that perfect run, is the precise nature of the jumps and slides. Being able to hold the slide button down for arbitrary amounts of time kind of defeats that purpose. But maybe I'm not understanding what you are asking for, so let me know.
Congrats to you for the game, glad its done so well. Shows that platformers can work so well on iOS Sorry if you answered it before (i've been on holiday), i would LOVE a sequel to have enemies/moving platforms using the same style of graphic/buttons etc. Would work so well. I know this is a great speed runner game but i would love you guys to create a standard platformer.
I would love to be able to run against the ghost of people on the leader boards. I have no clue how some of these guys are getting through the levels so fast.
Thanks! I think a lot of people would like to see a full-blown traditional platfomer. And while we think it would be a lot of fun to do, we also realize that it would be a huge undertaking. Probably beyond the scope of just the two of us. IOW, we'd probably need a larger team of folks, money, and time. But who knows what direction we'll go in the future. Another highly requested feature. I think it would be cool, and something I'd like to investigate. But I have no idea how we'd even go about adding this feature at the moment. In short, something I think would be fun and cool to do, but don't expect anything soon.
No, I mean if you're sliding under an obstacle, and there's another need-to-slide-under obstacle right away, you can just hold the slide for both of them.
Gotcha! But I still don't think we'll add an option for that. As I mentioned before, a perfect run is measured by how precise your movements are, and that includes the timing of your slides. Granted, having a hold-to-slide for multiple slide obstacles isn't going to give anyone a huge advantage (over having to press slide every time), but we have so few obstacles (and no enemies) as it is, that we need to have something to challenge players. But thanks for the request, and sorry for being a downer.
Theoretically, the top time could actually be 27.051, rounded to what it is now I've been playing through the story levels one at a time, currently on 5-1. 22 hours of game time, and I haven't started challenge mode
You might be right about the time. Wow, 22 hours and you haven't even played Challenge mode?!? That is crazy (in a good way)!
I'm guessing most games that support the ability to pass around ghost data either use OpenFeint/GREE or some custom server. I know that OF supports challenges (not quite what we're talking about here), and the ability to store arbitrary data, which could be ghost data. We originally had plans to add OF, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Game Center doesn't seem to offer anything beyond challenges and multiplayer support. Like I said, it would be very cool to allow people to watch the top score ghost, and maybe someday I'll try to wrap my head around it.
With Openfeint you can store blob data to a high score - unfortunately OpenFeint is no longer supported by GREE and I've been told that the servers will be taken off line by the end of the year. I'm not sure the new GREE platform can do this. Scoreloop can also save blob data to high scores but Blackberry/RIM now own this and it's future maybe uncertain. To be on the safe side because most of these 3rd party APIs are in flux at the moment the best option would be to implement your own server. It's a real shame about Openfeint because it was very easy to implement ghosts to high score
