Mine SHOULD be posted now! robotwars - you are hot on my heels, and I'm not sure I can shave much else off of my times!
I posted earlier in the thread about the physics of the swing not being what I expected right at first when I pictured the little blue shorts flying through the air, but after the second level set it was totally natural and after the 4th level set I figured I should come back and give a progress report. The style of hooking is perfectly suited for this game and I must say how clear it is that an unbelievable amount of time must have gone into the level design because it is downright awe inspiring that every jump, hook, spike, platform, object, and coin are so perfectly placed and the timing of where the moving objects are as you run/hook through the levels must habe been tweaked many times as they always seem to be exactly where the need to be. I haven't checked out the retro graphics yet, but I will. That being said, one of the things I've loved about the mikey series is that the graphics also seem to be perfectly fitting and clear without unnecessary extras. As I mentioned I'm only on level set 4 but it seems like the levels are getting a bit flatter (if that makes sense). It doesn't appear to have as much of an exploration element as mikey shorts did. Possibly because of everyone is enjoying going after high scores and speed runs that it was catered to in MHooks? I personally love a bit more of an adventurous platforming experience including clear endings to levels so ill humbly request to pleaae avoid morphing into "mikey endlessly runs"situation. To sum it up. Game is awesome.
Yeah, we definitely *never* had any intention of adding "dirty" IAP. The goal this whole time was to add some bonus options that we thought people might enjoy -- the big one being retro mode, which I think is really cool. The idea behind it was totally as a "support the devs" IAP, so people that felt like dropping a bit more on the game could, while at the same time keeping the price of the game at a lower price. Thanks! We appreciate that you came back to let us know that the hooking is working for you! And I'm glad it did work out, and you are able to enjoy the game. We really did try to make the hooking as friendly as possible for a wide audience.
Just looked on mikey shorts google spread and see I have a few high scores still, and noticed there is 60 challenge levels (equivalent to race mode) And thought oh ill check my stats... 165 hours played , oh and I Beta tested it to so plus about another 13 hours , anyone would think I like mikey or something
That's what i wanted to say for quite some time, too The level design is amazing. Hats off! @mikeg123 Did you notice the rounding bug at the race mode scoring as mentioned at the HS-Table? Sometimes the time (multiplied by 100) and the score sum up to 15100 and sometimes the sum gives 15099 only. But if 45.00s give 10600 points and every 0.01s is worth a point the sum should always be 15100, shouldn't it?
Again about the rounding bug: I noticed the bug occurs on times ending with 3 and 8 (for instance 44,53 -> 10646 points instead of 10647) and doesn't occur on times ending with 5, 7 and 0. Unfortunately i only got times ending with 3,5,7,8 and 0. Could you check your times and post pairs of times/points if the time ends with 1,2,4,6 and 9? Then i could put the correct formula into the HS-Table Edit: A look at the HS-Table shows, there are scores ending with 0,1,3,5,6,8 only. So the only pair i miss is one with a score ending with 8 Does the time end with 1 or 2?
