Alright guys so I'm planning on getting an iPhone but I'm confused and worried about its monthly fees. I have Sprint by the way and I think my contract expired so I'm ready for a new phone. It says I'm required a data plan. Is it true it's like 70 bucks a month for a iPhone?? So if both of my parents get an iPhone too it's like $210 a month?! I'm really confused, help!
I Don't understand what you are confused about. The iPhone needs a data plan, so you have to pay for it. Does that answer your questions?
I'm not sure how strict they are about data plans at Sprint, but I know some people purchase iPhones and use it without data (of course, they are not buying it from the carrier). Pricing really depends on the amount of data that you choose to have. The more you want, the more expensive it'll be. Basically yes, if everyone chooses a $70 plan, then it'll be $210 altogether.
Okay so how does the data plans work though? Does it go for the family in general or do each of us have to pay that much? Also with a contract you can get the phone for only 200 dollars but on eBay it's expensive without a carrier like 500 bucks I think.
I don't know if Sprint has some family deal or anything, but in general, each person will have their own amount of data. So let's say a $70 plan will get you 2gb of data, then each person will get 2gb (costing $210 altogether). Purchasing the iPhone from Sprint will be cheaper, but you'll be paying more for the plan. So purchasing the iPhone from eBay may end up being cheaper in the long run. But then again, if Sprint detects your iPhone, they may end up tacking on a data plan without your consent (I believe AT&T does this (or used to)).
Data plans work in different ways. Some of them may be shared between multiple people but it mostly is separate for each phone.
