Wow, jb detection on a free app?? Is that true? And if so, is there a way for it to work and stay jailbroken?

The game seems to run fine on the iPhone 4s but the text is really blurry, the instructions are hardly what can be called readable same with the menus. I don't mind lower graphics for 4s and iPad 2 users but at least make the text readable. Does Unreal Engine have issues on iOS 7+ devices that causes blurry text? It seems that Epoch have similar issue with blurry text on Epoch 2 but perfectly fine on Epoch 1 (graphics on Epoch 1 are worlds better than Epoch 2). If the blurry text can be fixed then it would make the instructions a lot easier to read along with following the storyline.

    Yes there is a workaround.

Game is stuck at connecting think it is due to jb detection, which is very annoying because I was able to purchase the iap for the graphic novel which ran. Just gave this a 1 star review on App Store and requested a refund for the iap from midnight rises. This is so disappointing.

They must realise there is a tweak called xcon/flex and tsprotector8 to remove jb detection anyway.

Is the jailbroken thing on there to prevent scores from being faked? Otherwise, I'd have no idea why it would be on a free app. Weird.

Not too sure but good point, must be a better way to prevent it than locking out a chunk of techies gamers though. For instance I actually purchased the iap from there graphic novel which is pointless reading if I can't play there game. luckily Apple give people from Europe refunds in the first 14 days of purchase, it's only £1.58 but besides the point haha.

Guys, was never our intent to cut out techie gamers, just to get started in the safest way possible for scores, multiplay, stats, etc, since we have a lot going on there.

And I'm pumped that you got the book-- we'll examine the jb thing asap. In the meantime, did you get in with that tweak? If so, I'll trade you not crying about the 1 star rating for your feedback on the game after you play it a bit... ;)

Cool sorry man for the over reaction was just hyped for the game/book etc to find that after work. Don't really want to use the tweak just mentio it for people that wanted to try. In the mean while I'll change the rating for the over reaction and hope of a fix.

Yeah I do hope the JB thing does get removed. I don't have a JB device at the moment but I know when Square Enix did it they got a huge backlash and not only did it hurt their profits but they got a bad rep. Square did eventually remove it after the issue blew up pretty big.

I think a lot of people will love this game but there's probably a huge portion of gamers that jailbreak their devices.

We definitely don't want that. Good learning today-- definitely appreciate the thoughts on the jb thing, and it's got us talking over here about a better solution.

Lawliet, you see the tournament registration open up? Given your veteran status, I expect big things...

Oh not a problem. I definitely want this game to be successful as I've enjoyed playing it so much. I want to universe to expand and a bunch of sequels :) And I am a big fan of being able to play offline. So the "play offline" + "sync when online" + "go online to compete" is basically what I love and the most favorable type of game design I can think of. I normally delete games that solo play online only. Great going in that department. I'll try and feed you guys some money as a show of support!

As for tournaments... lol. You mean my status of getting 4th place out of 10 people. I think now with the competition of getting top 3 with millions of people, I'm not sure how well my veteran status will help me..

You guys should have gave out special badges for pre-release people! That's the only thing I'd be able to brag about since I'm preparing myself for destruction in multiplayer challenges.

    Edit:

Btw Wizard on that last headshot challenge, it said to beat you to get catalyst. I got 64 on the first day the challenge opened. Never checked and then when it ended it said you got 65 headshots. Why do you torture me so?? I also got 4th place on the big tournament when I almost got 3rd. My luck stat sucks ..

I rarely post thesedays but just wanna chime in that I completely agree with amusing Grace, the screenshots look awful, low-res and uninteresting at all. I watched the prototype video on appspy where the graphics were dull (probably due to being prototype), so I don't understand what they mean by "gorgeous game" when it's soft-launched now.

"From the creator of Halo" definitely intrigued me though, so I skimmed through a few pages of this thread and luckily bumped into these 2 screenshots, which - along with a few positive posts - convinced me straight away to download it.

So devs, PLEASE update the screenshots. And in all your trailers / description, write "from the creator of Halo" prominent and big, so people won't accuse you of ripping Halo off and instead will be interested by the art direction.

Hope you guys do well with this game, huge promise, just needs to market it better (glad to see you focus on the game rather than marketing first though, as long as you don't neglect it).

I didn't think would enjoy a fixed cover shooting, but this game is a blast to play. The graphical theme is a little cartoony, but the story is interesting, the game has polish and it makes me want to play more. I like the upgrading too.

I'm jail broken so no wonder it doesn't work, never heard of jb protection before but man your locking out a mass customer base for putting that in. Unless somebody is willing to pm me step by step instructions for the workaround I'm uninstalling. Really disappointed to be honest.

Many people jailbreak their iOS device with the sole reason of hacking and pirating games. My game also will not run on a jailbroken device.

My device ISNT jail broken and it's stuck on loading configuration. I was able to play early. This is so frustrating. Glad I didn't spend money on it. Ugh.

You cant blame devs though. I used to be jailbroken strictly because i wanted to use emulators for early systems , nothing else.

But there are obviously lots of people who do jailbreak to get illegal apps so i can see why they might try this level of protection. Look at Monument Valley and how many people cracked and used that app etc.

Many people jailbreak their device for functionality like downloading and storing documents and using cleaning software to wipe out apps' cache (like Facebook & Instagram). It's a bummer we suffer too, but I understand where you're coming from. Just too bad there isn't a compromise.
