Please tell me that Microsoft isn`t selling that as an Feature since, I mean, it`s an WIndows 8 PC Tablet so why shouldn`t it work on it?

Microsoft seem currently desperate to make Windows 8 look worthy but I currently see at no point why I should invest even one Dollar after I have invested more then 200 Dollar into Windows 7 Ultimate and you know...

It`s running, and running, and running,...

And I won`t even start about what an big Fail it would be if the Surface won`t support the Wirless Controller that Microsoft is selling for Windows PC seperate too and that I do indeed own myself twice.

  3. Yeah, it will be interesting to see what the surface is all about now. It's time for Microsoft to put everything on the table. Let's see what happens.

But I do think it will be good for Apple to finally have some worthy competition, I really think the ipad 4 will be hella cool. That's what I really wanna see, what the heck will the ipad 4 look like cause of the surface competition.

Damn, now that I got a 64 gb new ipad, very doubtful would upgrade to an ipad 4, but man, I think it will be sweet.

But apple has to do something and get off their butts and make a wireless joystick. I would really be jealous if microsoft had xbox controllers, and all we had was the gameloft joystick.

    Sigh...

If Surface has the user base then it'll dominate the mobile gaming industry simply because it's much easier to port games that are DirectX-based games and now with the announcement of a controller you can a pretty cool mobile gaming system.

  5. Can't believe they made surface with such cruddy resolution though, I thought they would make it close to retina ipad, but no its more like ipad 2. Now I won't consider buying it for sure.

But dang, apple better do something about a good solution to a wireless joystick, or surface might get more market share.

I really doubt that most people will consider carrying a wired xbox controller around to be a good solution. Even wireless, but especially a wired controller. This sounds like a feature that people will play with a few times, and then toss the controller in a drawer. Not unlike iCade.

I had a chance to try out a Laptop/Tablet hybrid with the i5 processor at Best Buy and it was a decent experience. I think the OS is pretty slick, but it's hard to gauge how well it works given the lack of an internet connection on the model I tried. The UI was extremely quick and I like the interface and the fact that you can still get to a traditional desktop.

The problem I have is going to be the disparity between the RT version of Windows 8 and the "true" Window's 8 desktop version and how much that will affect users/app developers down the line. I initially thought that the concept of Windows 8 was to provide users a seemless transition between desktop, smartphone and tablet, but that's not entirely true. Since some tablet's will use an ARM based processor, this immediately limits the desktop software that's compatible which to me was the most appealing prospect.

I think the hardware is really quite amazing, really cool magnesium build, kickstand and the keyboard cover as well, whole thing hardware wise seems to be really premium, to be honest it's actually the OS that gives me pause if it was running Android it would be already pre ordered.

I think I'll buy a nexus 7 to tide me over and look at surface again when the Pro version is out although I know that's going to be crazy money more than likely but I can probably justify that as a new laptop.

Dunno, an Xbox controller fits in a backpack with ease- iCade, not so much. Plus, not many people carry a tablet by itself- freaking weird when you see people walking around with a freaking special case hanging on their arm for a tablet (and it's just for the tablet). I honestly feel like decking those people.

  11. What bothers you so much in an ipad only case?

I know nowadays I carry my ipad almost everywhere cause I do so much with it. Usually carry a backpack. If I carry just my ipad only, i carry one of those small sports backpacks the ones with draw strings. I guess this is not as bad as an ipad case holder, but I've gone shopping sometimes for a man purse for my ipad. Just never found one that I liked. Actually i see a lot of people carrying their ipads with a smartcover no case, surprising cause they could drop it.

The back pack thing isn't really what annoys me- I'm fine with that. It's the people that have a special tablet 'purse' and flaunt it out in public, like 'look at me guys, I've got a tablet! I'm so special'. It's like those people that have strollers for their dogs, or the people use a Bluetooth (hands free device) to talk on the phone when they don't even need it and can totally use their friggin hands. Having a tablet purse isn't as bad as just walking around with just a tablet though.

  13. Ahh, ipad as a fashion statement. Still funny how so few people have a tablet, man I could not live without one.

Ok, I'll give up my quest for a manpurse, actually carrying water, snacks, ipad, and a jacket are all I need, in my regular
    Backpack.

    A woman, optional.... Haha!

You know what would be great? If they ported or emulated Xbox games for download using the Xbox controller. Imagine Halo or other classics on he go. Even better, do like the Vita and allow remote play from a 360.

I'd buy one just for some quality games.

  15. I'm sure they are going to try it on the surface and all.

I wonder if the ipad 4 or surface could rin the original xbox games in terms of performance. Anyone know?
