I just got a ipod touch 2g for an xmas present. I downloaded shazam and fring. Both i need a microphone and i thought the 2g touch had a built in mic. Do i need to turn it on or something or does the mic not work with those apps? Thanks.
heh. Yes, to turn on the microphone, you need to shake the ipod for 10 minutes. Then the accelerometer will notice that you want the microphone. Then it will turn on. TADAA!
also you have to buy zombie mansion. That has a special thing in it that makes the mic work. I dont know how, but it does.
It also helps if you beat a hooker with your iPod. That usually turns the mic on. If not try hitting it with a baseball bat a few times.

You need to purchase an external microphone in order to use one with the 2g. Apple sells an expensive one, or you could try one from here for $9.99. There are a few different options.

Most if these suggestions are proven to work but not certified. The real method is to eat the iPod and regurgitate it. Place the regurgitated iPod on a plate and microwave it for 2 minutes and 26 seconds. Remove the iPod from the microwave and place it on the floor. Then sit on your device and fart several times. Next, bash your iPod into your head repeatedly for about two minutes. When completed, you should be able to use the mic. If it doesn't work, then bash it into your head again for a while.
