I kinda liked the old visual style better. Gritty, dark, astronaut theme. Now it looks kinda fruity. Maybe tone down on the pastels a little? :(

Perhaps a "Z-targeting" system for locking onto enemies by tapping them, and "flicking them" to cycle back and forth between them, would make things a little easier?

Worked for Zelda and Metroid in 3D, I don't understand why it's not more often used on the iPhone, even in 2D games, as it suits the device perfectly.

The art style has improved immensely in the latest shots, I can tell that you had a vision from the start and it's now starting to come through. You've captured that Metroid/retro style well and yet it still is completely unique, however remember that Metroid is famed for it's detailed graphics - consider elaborate, detailed 2D decals overlaying the environments.

And yeah the robot is still just not quite there yet, you really need something iconic, something that people will remember and hey, who knows, even associate as one of the iPhones premier exclusive franchises!

Maybe imagine what a Samus suit would look like if Apple made it?

We are working towards Jan 20th, but exact dates may not be up to us, since we might let the TouchArcade guys handle the story release.

On another note, we are trying to figure out a way to get free copies (maybe promo codes) of the game to all who have contributed productive feedbacks and would like to credit them accordingly with in-game credits.

And to all who have signed up for beta testing, we will be ready soon :)

We followed community feedback and as many suggested, we are taking the time to make a nice polished game. I can give you a hint at what to expect, +60 rooms (+30 unlockable with free updates), all filled with platforming action, physics-based puzzles, battles or all 3 ;) Several ecosystems with nice artistic treatment and painted sceneries. Custom music tracks and sounds fxs. I know you will love the bosses and the story. The game is filled with hidden rooms, secrets and rewards. And as promised, full 60fps of pure gameplay response (we will even let you see the fps on screen if you want; its a geek thing)

This first release will not have OpenFaint (nor similar tech) as we will need more time to decide which service will better serve this game. But every achievement will be stored for when this update is ready. We don't want to just stick in this feature, as we believe this needs to receive the same love as the rest of the game. It should fuse with the game, not just patch it.

And if this Apple tablet thing is for real, we have some awesome things that would otherwise be cut for the iPhone/iPod.

I would also like to thank these two guys that have joined to help (Jonny and Jason) which are not receiving what they are worth. These guys are making things happen. It was not easy finding people that could handle community feedback ;)

On another, another, note, I've been doing the videos myself, but we can surely do with some mad video skillz. Just contact me and include a poor man's budget and we might be able to arrange something.

You guys might be hearing more from Jason as he is a better speaker than me, with better english :)

Cheers! And hope you guys had a great year! If any of you guys happen to be around San Francisco near the 23rd of this month, lets get together for some drinks.

Wow, congrats guys on your great developement into this game, I agree with Kamazar though, the old art style had a darker feel to it, this one looks like it just lost at a game of paintball, anywho great job and can't wait to see it make it's App Store debut.

Congrats on homestretch. I'd say go with Openfeint if you don't get accepted for plus.
I actually prefer Feint more now though.

I I like Openfeint much much better than plus... plus makes you sign in, what if you downloaded it onto your ipod touch right before a trip that has you on the highway, without and internet connection? it might skip it, not sure, but I don't think so...

but Openfeint is much more developed than plus anyway...

I wonder the same thing... I would like to beta test too :(

Hey, hey, hey! This one has come along far!

It looks like a completely different game, basically. It has colour! Too many games now have shades of brown and grey, so it's good to see you moved away from that. The foreground / background is especially good, it's simple but in a clear, concise, stylish way.

Is the game going to feature sequence breaking? That is if you're going to have the powerup > backtracking > unlocking new paths / secrets with said powerups feature of Metroid.

I am not sure what you would really do with openfient besides achievements...

I mean it could be used for some sort of online ranking of how much time it took you to complete the game, accuracy, and other stat comparisons that might be cool to see...

    Also,

YAY! THIS GAME IS LOOKING GREAT AND I CAINT WAIT
