I'm not sure why the other thread was locked, maybe we didn't follow the posting guidelines. Lets then keep all the action here. I edited the first post of this thread and added the title of the game to the thread title. Anyway, hope you guys are enjoying the new stuff. We are still working hard to get this out. I know we owe the beta guys a build and the gamers the final game trailer. Please bare with us. On a side note: I would like to publicly recognize the work of Jonny and Jason. You know these guys are the developers of this 3 man team. While, I could send them a food-stamp-check for their work, these guys are not on payroll, pleaseroll or slaveroll, they are equal partners as responsable as me for the success of the game. And as partners will fully benefit from each and every sale of this game, IP, ads and any other first time, recurrent and future revenue generated by this. This doesn't come without risks, as there are many projects that come and go. These guys are highly professional and can be working on anything and for anybody they choose. Except they chose to be here and I'm really honored to work with them. Hopefully, together we can give the community a nice enjoyable game for their iPhones. And the community can give back to us the opportunity to keep doing so. Cheers! And thanks for the support!
I just watched the new video and wow, you have come so far. This game looks like it now achieves your goal of taking the metroid/megaman style and putting your own twist to it. The graphics and gameplay (from what I saw) look superb. Job well done. I think the story is going to be great too. I like the idea of having the main mission of finding the doctor, but having the mystery surrounding it. I hope that the mystery ultimately becomes more important and that the mission takes a dramatic turn away from just finding the doctor, but I will just have to wait and see. Also, I really like your marketing. The character is iconic and the name is catchy. I like how you encouraged a shortened version of the name. Giving the game its own slang definitely makes the user feel like it is more of a legitimate game like COD than an app like doodle jump (though admittedly successful, totally different market). The only complaint I have is the character's name. LDU-1 is kinda clunky and not that cool sounding. I would recommend making the character seem like an the elite robot, somehow better than all of the rest. Think about halo. Apparently there were other soldiers like Master Chief, but it was always implied that he was the best. You understand that he was elite right when you first hear the name, and this helps provide motivation for the game. Whatever the main character is, the player is, and if the main character is the best, the player wants to be the best. This might be stupid, but any adventure game I can think of involves the main character being special in some way. All in all, this looks freaking amazing. PS: The logo looks amazing. I would maybe even use it in one of your screenshots like spaceminer did with theirs
Music is great. Sound effects for jumping, shooting metal platforms and web slinging don't sound professional though. Gameplay puzzles and bosses look great. How did you deal with the aiming while running back and forth?
Street Fighter IV Rayman Grakion I'm happy I didn't spend much this month. March is gonna be an awesome month.
I hate to give all the followers of this false hope by bumping it up to the top, but I feel I must ask. Anything new going on with this game? What are the latest and greatest things that have been added / fixed? Come on! I need answers!
Thanks for the feedback, everyone - we really appreciate your suggestions, concerns and support! We've just about tackled the critical path and are turning our focus on polishing up the areas, creating more enemies, puzzles and beefing up the writing. These additions add more time to development but we want to make sure people get their money's worth - and trust me, they will!
Awesome, it's nice to know that this thing is being polished to perfection. Thanks for giving a status report so quickly by the way.
what happened to this game? I thought they were looking at a march release date but they havent updated for weeks.
Animations definitely need some work, particularly jumping and swinging. Also as mentioned before some of the sfx, eg. landing from a jump etc., definitely need upgrading. Otherwise though it looks phenomenal, the level design looks good and the bosses and enemies look incredible. I do wish there were more environmental effects though, maybe an alpha layer with dust/particle effects etc. that could float across the screen. Goes a LONG way to adding atmosphere.
What he (or she) said Also, if the dev is watching this at all any more, do you have any time to give us a quick update?
Hello everyone, We've been super busy with other stuff lately, but work on the game continues. Development is picking up again and we should have another substantial update coming soon. Also, thank you for the suggestions - we'll definitely be looking into these!
well this game looks like it's going to be axed, sadly, it got too big for its own good, its simplicity was what made it great, now the devs will either run out of money, or if the game does in fact get released, it will be yet another overshot B game
What makes you say that? They have only been implementing things that the community wants. I'm pretty sure core gameplay is where it is at. And I do not know what you mean simplicity. Gameplay or graphics?
