awww... Topic got bumped - and I got all excited - For nothing. *sigh* ...This game is definitely on my radar. But I'll keep waiting. Impatiently.
60 rooms doesn't sound like much content. Ideally I'd like something about the same length and difficulty as a Metroid game; roughly 6 hours if you take your time.
Good things come to those who wait. It sounds like they keep making the game more and more ambitious, so if they pull it off it'll be a top-tier game. If they can get a major publisher interested then that means more cash for development and a better game. I can almost guarantee the game wouldn't have been as good if they had submitted in November.
No, it will not be released within February, we are however looking to start final testing towards the end of this month. If there is no serious bumps in the road should be submitted shortly after. We are currently working on adding more enemies to the game, which has pushed back the next gameplay trailer a tad bit, as we would like to include them. The conversion to the new art style is almost complete as well, we've tweaked it even further which I hope everyone will enjoy. I'll discuss it with the team if perhaps we should grab a few new screenshots to put up here. Thanks again everyone for posting in this thread and letting us know your opinions. We discuss and consider everything that is being said, and it will continue to shape the outcome of the game.
Finally, some new info! Happy to hear that this game is being polished to perfection. Many games have been released half baked with the promise of updates only to fail to gain a good reputation due to their obvious disadvantage of being incomplete games. Way to avoid the pitfall. Also, remember that while app store people like buying one dollar games, people will equate price with quality to a certain extent, so as cheep as possible might not be the way to go. Also, people are more inclined to give moderately priced games a fair play through instead of just deleting a one dollar game right away with a one star rating. I am no expert and I am sure that you have considered this already, but I have seen this happen to many new devs on these forums and would hate to see it happen to you.
Please don't rush it. Take your time as I much prefer waiting longer for a much better game than getting a half-assed game next week. All the best!
