Yet, after playing the beta for weeks, this is easily my personal GOTY! Everything oozes quality and heart. And the game mechanics are highly unique, which itself is a big achievement. Production is fantastic (music and animations!) and user interface is perfect on mobile (it‘s a perfect portrait experience on iPhone and beautiful on iPad). Add to that different game modes and vastly different play styles with the various characters. This game - to me - has no flaws. It‘s an indie masterpiece. I was waiting until midnight GMT. I don't see it live yet, but should be any time now. I really hope you guys enjoy it! A couple reviews we've gotten so far - Pocket Tactics 9 / 10 "Meteorfall: Krumit's Tale is roguelike deck building at its best - quirky, inventive, and most of all, fun" Pocket Gamer 4 / 5 "Krumit’s Tale is a whimsical journey that tasks you to play your cards right to save a dying world. The fun deck building roguelike is frustratingly challenging but highly addicting" AppUnwrapper "If you’re looking for a new card-based dungeon crawler that’s both challenging and accessible, you’ve come to the right place" We also have 93% Positive on Steam with 300+ reviews and have a couple reviews for the PC Version on Metacritic. The biggest critique thus far is that it's more difficult than Journeys (true - it's a deeper game with a higher skill ceiling) To help new players, we'll be introducing a new, easier mode next week that lets you customize the difficulty to your liking. solarnya, ste86uk, sugimulm and 1 other person like this. I tend to be stubborn when playing games with unlockable characters, I won’t move on until I’ve completed the game with the original character then work my way through them one at a time. It was an absolute joy when I finished the game for the first time and found that each character plays completely different - not just different passive abilities and cards but completely different playing styles. This game is a blast to play and I can’t recommend it enough. ste86uk and slothwerks like this. The game does autosave every 30 seconds while in a dungeon. There *is* a bug currently where the game isn't autosaved *after* a dungeon is completed but I have a fix for that and will be submitted tonight. I think that fix alone will solve at least some of the pain. Perhaps I can look into force autosaving if the game loses focus as well, which might at least help with the progress being lost. The game unloading from memory is a trickier one. This happens a lot for me (in general) for games built in Unity. In the case of Krumit's Tale, the other big memory culprit are the textures used for the animations. I've improved memory usage compared to the PC version quite a bit but it's difficult to streamline further. I'll see if there's a bit more I can do though, as I know it's a pain to have to reload the game when swapping away from it. BlueTrin and ste86uk like this. The restarting was happening after I've been playing for several minutes. I finished the tutorial and it told me to finish up the map the tutorial began on. I started getting iMessages at that point. Each time I'd answer a message and go back the game would be loading as though it wasn't launched yet and progress was not saved. Happened 3 times, until I decided to complete the tutorial and the starting map without exiting the game. I started the first normal (non-tutorial run). I left it running for a few minutes. Switched to email, went back and the game had to reload again. It did have a 'resume progress' button this time so I suspect the 30 second save kicked in. Unloading from memory is strange. I've only had that happen if I launched multiple games in a row, not with iMessage or email. Let me know if there's any scenarios you'd like me to test. Thanks! dukat111 Well-Known Member Mar 23, 2010 514 94 28 #16 dukat111, Aug 27, 2020 I agree. The choice of reward after each run and the interesting items in the store are done so well. Some items have multiple traits/abilities that add a lot of strategy/depth... and the art style is fun. Glad to see the game mechanics have been reworked/enhanced so instead of a re-skinned game we got a new gem. ste86uk, Rocco SE and W8rd3 like this. This is such a welcome addition. Game doesn’t hold back in presenting challenges, overcome with a similar unlock progression that gave Meteorfall it’s great relatability. Brilliant. I played my first game. Only scratched the surface but if I don’t stop now I’ll be late for work. It’s one I’m gonna want to have a chunk of time to spend on for my first few plays. Glad the upgrade system is here as well as earning new cards from experience gained. There are achievements but I was wondering if leaderboards were planned. I opted not to do an 'all-time' leaderboard because in Journeys, most of the scores ended up being 'hacked' and so I spent a lot of time deleting scores trying to clean it up before giving up because the scores just keep coming. The daily leaderboard occasionally has that problem as well, but not as bad since it goes away and so there's less upside to spending time getting a hacked score up there when it'll be gone the next day. drunk_vader, Anotherkellydown, Rocco SE and 1 other person like this.
